Grainger Market has over 100 businesses, all in one Victorian covered market. With independent traders and big-name shops, you’ll find everything from fashion to food. Be sure to check out the Marks and Spencer Original Penny Bazaar, the world's smallest M&S store.
On Sundays you’ll find the banks of the Tyne transformed into a market filled with handcrafted goods and local produce. With artists, designers, jewellers and food producers all selling their wares at Quayside Market, it’s the perfect place to pick up a souvenir.

If you love your shopping in a gleaming, luxurious mall, you’re in the right place. Newcastle is home to two of the largest shopping centres in the UK, making it a must-visit for shopaholics.
With vast amounts of free parking and regular bus and train services from the city centre, the Metrocentre in Gateshead is so big, it’s a day out in itself. Built in 1906, Central Arcade has kept its elegant Edwardian charm and has to be one of the city’s most beautiful places to shop. But while it looks pretty, it also houses a number of boutiques, independent shops and well-known brands. There’s quirky vintage jewellers Bcharmd, Space NK and Daniel Footwear all under its ornate glass roof.
