North Shields (Ferry Terminal) hotel

I'd be happy to return, the staff very pleasant and chatty, very visible and helpful. What a great breakfast. I was told in advance by friends of issues with travellers, I witness no issues, no traveller in the vicinity. As I said happy to return.

We have stayed at this hotel before but this time the room we were given was poor not cleaned properly and the rubbish outside was everywhere due to the traveller encampment just 50 yards from the hotel which had dogs barking constantly a totally unsatisfactory stay

Room, albeit basic was clean and bed was super comfy. Bathroom was clean but lacked a loo brush! Staff were so friendly (a special mention to Susan (Suzanne?) who was an absolute star! Dining was superb. Breakfast was plentiful and evening meal was delicious and the staff were extra cheery and helpful….now for the downside…the remains of a traveller site opposite the Inn was absolutely disgusting. It was my first visit “up north” and the impression I got when I saw the mess, rubbish, dirty nappies, disgarded furniture only feet away from our room was enough to make us consider checking out and finding somewhere else…(we were only there 2 nights so shut the curtains and ignored it) But it’s pretty grim…so be prepared!

Unfortunately the area and what was outside the area put me off wanting to be there completely. I understand it was probably a situation that couldn’t be helped but the area stank and it was just nasty and didn’t feel very safe

The hotel was clean and tidy although there were cobwebs behind the chair on the wall when I moved the chair. Staff were pleasant when I required assistance. Unfortunately there is a travellers site opposite the main entrance of the hotel and there were rubbish but I did see a member of staff picking up rubbish from the car park and at the front of the hotel. I had a great stay.
