Shopping at Crown Point

Designer shops

For designer discounts and labels for less, head straight to the York Designer Outlet. It has 120 stores including Adidas, Calvin Klein, Paul Smith, Fred Perry, Kurt Geiger, Osprey, Polo Ralph Lauren, Levi’s and Swarovski. Looking for an Alexa, Del Rey or Bayswater?
Or how about some iconic leather luggage? Step inside the Mulberry Factory Shop on Swinegate. Award-winning boutique Van Mildert brings high fashion labels such as Comme des Garcons, Dries Van Noten and Helmut Lang to the North-East. You’ll find it right in the city centre.

Christmas shopping

High street shops

York has loads of high street and mid-range shops. Along Stonegate, Petergate, Davygate, High Ousegate, Coney Street and in the Coppergate Centre, you’ll find brands such as Urban Outfitters, Topshop, H&M, Superdry, Mango, Zara, Office, Whistles, L.K. Bennett, Jigsaw, Timberland, Reiss, Barbour, Cath Kidston and Molton Brown.

York also has two Debenhams (one in the city centre and one at Monk’s Cross Shopping), a Fenwick and John Lewis.

Antique and independent shops

Vintage and independent

The Antiques Centre on Stonegate has three floors of rare and wonderful items from the Roman to Art Deco eras. Its selection of clothes  spans the late 19th-century up to the 1970s. There’s also the Red House Antiques Centre right by York Minster, Cavendish Jewellers on Stonegate and Northern Antiques on Goodramgate. For vintage clothes, visit Priestleys just off Grape Lane, Dog&Bone on Castlegate and Bowler on Fossgate. For a truly unique shopping experience head to the Shambles, a higgledy-piggledy shopping street packed with independent shops and eateries.
