York North hotel

By far the best hotel we have stayed at. Cooked breakfast fresh to order is our preference and rare to find at a premier inn now , clean rooms and comfy beds, Staff friendly and welcoming. We have already booked a return visit for later this year.

Location is excellent for visiting the centre and also surrounding towns. Free parking and secure car park, local pub The Dormouse serves delicious pub meals. All hotel staff excellent, every staff member we encountered were polite and friendly, including house keeping girls. Only small thing is no air conditioning however the hotel had left us a fan in the room and left a few bottles of water. Very thoughtful.

We booked a premier plus room for 4 nights. It came with air con , fridge and supposedly ultimate WiFi. Despite booking four nights we were required to input different long codes everyday to get access to the ultimate WiFi,, which seems stupid, the free WiFi was just as good, we could not tell the difference. On check in we only had one bath towel and one hand towel and one toilet roll. Next morning we asked reception for extra towels and toilet rolls. We returned at the days end to find towels had arrived but no toilet rolls. I went to reception and the male on duty was asked for toilet rolls, he went away and handed me one roll. I explained we were there for the next three nights, but he said that was all we could have. His attitude was not good. I would not expect this as we had paid for the premier plus experience. The next morning I spoke to one of the chambermaids who happily gave us another two rolls, and seemed embarrassed having been given just one roll the night before. Premier in offers two types of unlimited breakfasts continental £9.99 or Full English £11.99 which is by table order not Buffett. There is no price structure if you only want a bowl of cereal or a piece of toast. You have to pay one of the full prices. We resorted by visiting local store and buying porridge pots and breakfast bars and eating in our room.

Excellent location and great staff Food ok but could be improved with better quality ingredients and easy to.bus into York

The rooms are not properly cleaned! Dust all down the headboard, under the bed, along the skirting boards & bottom of the black on the bedside table! There was a mattress protector lying under the bed! Definitely will NOT return to this hotel needs some tender loving care & such a pity because in a great location. Couldn’t even bring ourselves to get into the bed just lay on top. There was only one bath towel & hand towel in our room! Had to ask to be moved from the first room as it was worse paint was pealing off the ceiling in the bathroom & all of the above mentioned was worse in first room! Plus there was fragments of broken glass beside the sofa! So very disappointed!
