York North hotel

We had a very enjoyable stay at York Premier Inn North. Booking and check-in were easy and the staff were friendly. The price was very reasonable, and we were able to have an accessible room very close to reception. Breakfasts were excellent. There was plenty of free parking. Park and ride is just up the road and the place is ideally situated for visiting York or touring around the area.

Our Premier Plus was nothing like the advertisement. The room was small with no sitting area. It was very dirty - dust and hair everywhere. The bed and bed linen were stained and the coffee machine did not look as if it had been cleaned for ages. There was no soap in any of the bathroom containers and the hook was hanging off the bathroom door. The carpets had a number of stains on them - some probably caused by bleach of some sort. We could not be moved as the hotel was full but were offered a refund for breakfasts (which we did not want to eat; in case the kitchen hygiene matched that in the rooms). I contacted Guest Relations four times and each time I was promised some follow-up action, which never happened. In the end they said that the refunded breakfast was all that they could do and that they considered the matter closed. I have had no assurance that our complaints about cleanliness have been addressed.

Location was really good rooms clean Breakfast service good and the gent on duty was really good as well the restaurant next door is fantastic food really good would definitely recommend

A very well-maintained hotel in a quiet location. No road noise during our stay. The room and bathroom were very clean. Friendly staff. Easy parking. It is the best Premier Inn in the York area, in our opinion. We shall book this one again.

This premier inn is tried and in need of a refresh. It’s in a great position for seeing York and the staff are pleasant. The sink didn’t drain properly The ac was ineffective 3 light bulbs weren’t working ( then one decided to come on on the middle of the night The hairdryer kept cutting out Carpets worn Meter wax a general feeling of grubbiness
