York North hotel

Location brilliant. We use the park and ride and buses oick up and drop off just outside Atmosphere calm and friendly, its a small hotel so free car park, never full, avtotal bonus. Rooms welcoming, clean and well maintained. We ran out of toilet paper but the staff quickly replaced it without any fuss and out of their routine. Plenty of tea and coffee suplies available 24/7 Breakfast arrangements brilliant. Tiny restaurant, table service so didnt feel like Butlins! Everything beautifully cooked, service quick and really friendly. The small gang of staff so ffiendly and kind even to the very pickie 7 year old with us, heating her coisants with not a blink. Hotel seemed to be run by two quite young ladies, very efficient and nothing too much trouble. Have stayed in 3 premier inns in last year. This one the best. Small, friendly, 5 stars!!!!

Staff were friendly and helpful. However, the Continental breakfast was advertised in throughout my 4-day stay at £9.99 in my room and also on ALL the tables in the restaurant as £9.99 - but I was told it had gone up and was charged £10.99. It is not acceptable to display one price and then charge a higher price.

The hotel was clean and quiet with ample car parking facilities HOWEVER Breakfast day 1 - no tomatoes Breakfast day 2 - no bacon!!!!! Breakfast day 3 - AOK A somewhat shambolic organisation!!!!

The location looked lovely although it was a quick one night stopover so didn't get to explore. Very close to a restaurant called Hickory's which I love, and across from the hotel is a Vintage Inn which looked nice. The room was comfortable, although the second twin bed was the sofa made into a bed, whereas other premier inns its actually two proper single beds. My mum didn't sleep well on the sofa bed. The man on reception at check in was really lovely and helpful. The breakfast let it down for us. We said good morning to the man in the breakfast room and he never even said it back, just asked our room number whilst looking at his clipboard. The hot food tasted very bland and a croissant I had was stale. Also had to book breakfast, not had to do this before at a premier inn and wasn't a fan. Because my mum slept poorly we were up early so would've preferred to have gone down sooner than we'd booked the day before. Would try again in the future if the bed situation was different. Hopefully breakfast was just a off day.

Stayed here with my husband for a complete chill weekend… watching tv, walks around the area, meals in the nearby pub. It did the job!. Guy in reception really helpful.. supplied us with towels on request. Also there are tea, coffee, sugar, milk extras in reception. Free carpark if you register car reg at reception. We stayed on the second floor. Room was spacious and very clean. Wi-Fi ok. Really comfy bed. Fan available if too hot. Radiator on wall if too cold. The wall mounted TV needs to be more central but other than that we couldn’t find a fault with anything. Bathroom with walk in shower that was good but sink taps just sprayed a fine water spray… annoying but appreciate it is to save water. Easy access to “ The Dormouse” pub next door which served meals and has a lovely outdoor area. A bonus since all Premier Inn restaurants have closed ( whats that about?). We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!
