York North hotel

Great stay just over a mile from the city centre, a lovely pub next door and ample parking. No issues with room, comfortable with everything we needed

Really hot when we went and room had no aircon which was first big negative ,window barely opened.Then the room .Instead of tv being at bottom of bed it was over to the right next to the window so you couldn't see it and remote didn't work . But it did have lots of free parking but its nearly 2 miles outside of town to far to walk .a mixed bag hotel needs updating aircon a must and some revising of layout Inside .

So looks like this hotel has had a recent refurb. Very clean, breakfast was very good and freshly made to order. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only one ‘but’ and that was the room heater, very noisy switching itself on and off with its thermostat. The older models were much less noisy, these convector/radiator types are not ideal, great heat but you can’t sleep with it on, you have to switch it off. But overall a great stay with free parking and bus stop outside.

Stayed at this Premier Inn 5th to 7th of June. Worst one we've stayed in. Carpets dirty and stained in the corridor. The room had a broken toilet roll holder and the hook was missing. Carpet stained. Premier plus it was not. Only a swivel chair in a double room. Had to sit on the bed to read or watch TV. Staff were helpful but I would avoid staying here . Will never return.

Stayed over the weekend, booked a family room, room wasn’t up to the usual standard space wise, it was quite small and difficult to move around together. Strange location for the tv, rather than at the end of the double bed, it was to the side meaning you had to strain your head to watch it, couple with the unresponsive remote, poor sound and the inability to play a connected hard drive made for a poor relaxing experience. Staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful, had breakfast one day, plentiful and cooked fresh (although poached eggs weren’t runny) Paid for ultimate WiFi, but it wasn’t up to scratch, constantly unstable Good location, bus stop across the road to catch the park and ride
