York North hotel

We have just returned from a lovely 4 day break in York. Hotel is very modern and clean having recently had a refurbishment. Staff were all very friendly and helpful especially Alberto who had arranged for a small bottle of prosecco and chocolates for our room on arrival as we were celebrating my special birthday. A very nice touch. Breakfast each morning was excellent and cooked fresh to order. All the staff very friendly each morning. Hotel is in an excellent location for exploring York and the surrounding area. Free car parking and we used the bus into town centre which was every 11 mins and bus stop located just across the road. The Dormouse pub located next door is ideal for meals and drinks during the day and evening though would advise booking especially weekends. All in all we had a lovely break and will certainly return soon.

Hotel has had a refurbishment since our last visit, we thought the rooms were spotless and very modern, breakfast cooked fresh was hot and tasty. Staff are always so welcoming and have great recommendations for York. We can’t wait to come back already! Thank you everyone

Great location with easy parking and usual comfort. Nice breakfast buffet and located next to a lovely pub which serves tasty meals and a good range of drinks.

I liked this hotel and after staying at Monks Cross Travelodge last time I travelled for work I definitely prefer it. My room was nice and clean and the bed was comfy. The heating was a bit noisy and the flashing light on the ceiling was a bit annoying. Very pleasant male waiter for breakfast. Great selection of continental and lovely hot freshly cooked food. Nice brews. Recommended. The Dormouse over the road was perfect for dinner the night before.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, nice onsite breakfast area (when the chef arrives) and the room was ok (Premier Plus). Hotel was generally clean, but there were some cobwebs in the room. Good location where I could walk to Clifton Moor Industrial Estates. Quiet. Get a new chef that actually shows up for work when they are supposed to, because on my last day he didnt show and I heard the team saying that they couldnt contact him and that this is a regular occurrence, so the night manager had to cook the breakfasts. This was appreciated of the night manager, but you could tell he wasnt a chef as the eggs were not cooked correctly, etc, and not even sure if he has any food qualifications e.g. hygiene, etc. Shame the breakfast experience was let down by this really, because its a nice small and comfortable area. I also think the Premier Plus rooms should automatically be serviced/re-stocked everyday, especially the extra price. Also add a lounge chair in the Premier Plus rooms (as per the standard double rooms), because the office chair provided is not at all comfortable to watch TV. Also Ultimate Wifi was not great.
