Before you arrive, open the Premier Inn app. Once you’ve checked in online, your room key will be ready to add to your Apple Wallet. It will be activated and ready to go – then you just use your phone or your Apple Watch to unlock your room.

  • Can I still access my room if my iPhone needs charging?

    If your iPhone needs to charge, your key will still work in Apple Wallet. Power Reserve provides up to five hours of access, so you can still get into your room. Power Reserve works with Express mode for iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, and more recent devices.

  • Can I use key in Apple Wallet without mobile/cellular signal?

    Your key in Apple Wallet can be used even if your iPhone or Apple Watch has no network connectivity, as the key is stored on your device. 

  • Can I use my key in Apple Wallet if I have a reservation for multiple rooms?

    Yes. Your key will be automatically activated for each room that you've reserved.

  • Do I need to unlock my iPhone to use my key in Apple Wallet?

    With Express Mode, you don’t need to wake or unlock your iPhone or Apple Watch to use your key in Apple Wallet.

  • Does it cost anything?

    There is no additonal cost to add or use your key in Apple Wallet.

  • Does my iPhone or Apple Watch support keys in Apple Wallet?

    To add and use a key in Apple Wallet, the iPhone 6S or later, or iPhone SE (2nd generation), will require the latest version of iOS. Optionally, an Apple Watch Series 5 or later, or Apple Watch SE will need the the latest version of Apple WatchOS.

  • How can I add my key to my Apple Watch?

    When you add a key to Apple Wallet on your iPhone, it is automatically added to your paired Apple Watch. Once your key has been added, simply hold your Apple Watch near the reader to unlock.

  • How do I set up and use my key in Apple Wallet?

    After booking, you can add your key to Apple Wallet via the hotel app. Your key will be activated once you check in and your room is assigned. To use your key, simply hold your iPhone or Apple Watch near the door lock. With Express Mode, there’s no need to need to unlock your device or open an app.

  • How is my Premier Inn digital key in Apple Wallet different from other digital keys?

    Standard keys utilise Bluetooth technology that allow guests to use apps on their iPhone or Android phone as a key. Your key in Apple Wallet can be securely used without opening an app or even unlocking your device. If you change rooms or add a few extra nights to your stay, your key automatically updates in the background — so there's no extra work for you, and no extra trips to the front desk. And if you’re out late to dinner, your key in Apple Wallet may work for up to five hours after your device needs a charge.

  • How secure is my key in Apple Wallet?

    When your key is added to Apple Wallet on your iPhone and Apple Watch, it’s stored on your device,which means Apple doesn’t see the spaces you access or when. Your data is private and secure.

  • How will I know when my key is available?

    A key can be added to Apple Wallet after you book a reservation. It will automatically activate once you check in and your room has been assigned.

  • I'm not able to add my key to Apple Wallet. What do I do?

    Contact our reception team and they will assist or provide you with a physical key card. 

  • What do I need to get started with my key in Apple Wallet?

    1. An iPhone or Apple Watch running the latest version of iOS or Apple WatchOS.

    2. An Apple ID signed into iCloud

  • What happens if my iPhone needs to be charged? Can I still use my key in Apple Wallet if my iPhone has no battery?

    If your iPhone needs charging, your key in Apple Wallet will still work. Power Reserve provides up to five hours of access after the device’s battery needs to be charged, so you can still enter your room.

  • What happens to my key in Apple Wallet if I lose my iPhone or Apple Watch?

    If your iPhone or Apple Watch is misplaced or lost, you should use Find My iPhone to suspend or deactivate your key in Apple Wallet. Instructions for Lost/Found Apple devices and Find My iPhone are located at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201472
    Your Digital Room Key in Apple Wallet will then be reactivated once your device is recovered. You can reactivate a found device that was suspended via iCloud.com.

  • What if my iPhone or Apple Watch is lost or stolen?

    If you think your iPhone or Apple Watch is lost or stolen, you can use iCloud.com or the Find My app on another Apple device to suspend or deactivate your key in Apple Wallet. Visit support.apple.com to learn what to do if your iPhone is lost or stolen, or if your Apple Watch is lost or stolen.If you need a new room key, please visit the front desk.

  • What is the key in Apple Wallet?

    It’s a digital alternative to a physical key which can be added to Apple Wallet. You'll be able to access all areas of the hotel with only your iPhone and Apple Watch making it easy, convenient, and private.

  • ‍Where in the hotel can I use the key?

    In addition to opening your room, your key can be used in the same areas where you would use a physical key*:- In the lift to gain access to your room’s floor if required- Entering exterior hotel entrances- Accessing hotel parking garages- Accessing other common areas*Room key-enabled access to other areas may differ by hotel.

  • Which iPhones and Apple Watches are compatible?

    1. iPhone 8 or later, running iOS 16.4 or later2. Apple Watch Series 3 or later, running WatchOS 9.2 or later

  • Why can I only use my key through Apple Wallet at some hotels?

    There are currently only a select number of hotels that can support the digital key capabilities. Additional hotels which already support keys will be available to add in Apple Wallet soon.

  • On how many devices (iPhone/Apple Watch) can I use my key in Apple Wallet?

    A: You can use your key on up to [#] iPhone(s) and [#] Apple Watch(es). They all need to be signed into the same iCloud account and Apple account.
