Getting Around

If you want to arrive at Fort William truly rested – and in some style – then book your berth on the Caledonian Sleeper, one of only two sleeper services in the UK. Trains run overnight from Sunday to Friday, meaning you leave Fort William or London in the evening and arrive at your destination the next morning.

The nearest international airport is Inverness Airport. The 70-mile journey takes around two hours by car or around three hours by bus, including one stop in Inverness. You can always book a room at our Inverness East hotel, which is just eight miles from the airport, allowing you to enjoy a good night’s rest before or after your journey.

Opened in 1984, the two platform Fort William Train Station is a two-minute stroll from our Fort William hotel and runs regular trains to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Mallaig. Located next to the train station, the Fort William Bus Station offers City Link and Stagecoach services across Scotland, including Oban, Inverness and the Isle of Skye.
