"Understaffed and chaotic"
Was all a bit of a shambles from start to finish.
Firstly, we were informed the restaurant was closed having booked the meal deal, so cancelled the dinners we’d booked and ate elsewhere, but were assured that breakfast would be running as usual.
In the morning, we got to the restaurant doors (having gone out past reception) to find it was dark and locked up. Returned to reception to be told the chef hadn’t turned up for work so there would be no breakfasts after all, and directed to the local Morrisons cafe. Morrisons had shut their kitchen due to the additional demand so we ended up with a combination of stuff from Morrisons supermarket and the Maccies drive through.
Our premium room was meant to come with ultimate WIFI but that wasn’t working and there weren’t enough towels so we had to go and request some.
The room was never serviced, so we then needed more towels and had to get milks and coffees from reception also.
The hairdryer in the room didn’t work and when we got to reception to check out and check the refund status of the breakfasts, no one was there for some time to speak to us.
Then on our last day, the restaurant was open for breakfast but many of the toilets were out of order, leaving only one ladies one open, which needed to be cleaned.
We got the impression that there just wasn’t enough staff on and the ones that were working were likely doing more than their fair share, so we decided not to complain to them as they’d probably had enough already.
We’ve stayed at Premier Inns on many occasions and this was not what we’ve been used to. We had a night at The Holiday Inn, Edinburgh prior to arriving at Fort William and will be looking for Holiday Inns, rather than Premier Inns for short breaks in future. Much better facilities and experience.
It is a very convenient location, but maybe needs better organisation and management.

"Thumbs down"
A very bad experience
1. Internet not working
2. Restaurant closed
3. Mugs provided in room broken
Not recommended for the price

"Shame about the restaurant"
Lovely modern room - no air-con but the windows open and they provide a fan - was ok at 20c but wouldn’t have been at any hotter.
Totally ruined by the restaurant - we didn’t use it - having had several emails telling us it was closed Friday- Monday (we stayed Tuesday) and the member of staff on reception didn’t know whether it would be open - we asked to use the toilet before check in and were sent to the restaurant ones - omg!!! They were filthy!! Both mens and women’s were disgusting 💩 💩 and no loo roll - you can only imagine the hygiene standards - yuk yuk yuk

"Good enough but missed the bar"
Pleasant looking from outside.
Checked in our room without any problem. Room was fine for us. I found it to be a clean and decent size family room. Quite a dark room though but think maybe where the Premier Inn is situated, all rooms are maybe dark. Not a good view, ground floor with a quiet pathway behind us and trees.
Staff were fine. We didn't engage much with them.
Sadly the restaurant attached was closed every night (open for breakfast only) and that gave us nowhere to sit as a family and play cards games as we normally do in a bar in these Premier Inns in the evening. We stayed 3 nights and did breakfast for one morning. It was okay but you could feel it was going through a change over and the staff were struggling with taking our payment for the breakfast. Fruit selection didn't look fresh and there wasn't much fruit there.
The other 2 days we brought breakfast in from the nearby places and made our room comfortable so we could sit at the table. Made the best of the situation. Same at night. We ate at the local Wetherspoon's one night in town which was nice but didn't want to venture out every night.
Lots of amenities nearby, Macds, Lidl, Morrisons, Aldi. We were grateful of that.
Great location for the Jacobite Steam Train too.
We didn't mind the walk in to town. About 10 mins. It was fine.
Would we stay here again? Maybe yes for the location and amenities but possibly a shorter stay.
Tip...take some cutlery and bowls/plates so if you do buy food in, you can eat in your room.

"One night family stay"
Only stay here if you need to for an overnight stay. The staff lacked enthusiasm and seemed very fed up when I checked in. The restaurant wasn’t available for breakfast or dinner and no alternative suggestions were made. For my family and I that wasn’t an issue as I had local knowledge of where to go and had booked dinner in the centre of fort William and we had breakfast at McDonald’s but for overseas visitors this would have been an issue. The room was small and crammed but for one night we didn’t mind. It was clean and as expected from a premier inn.
