Still having trouble catching some zzzs? Here are a few tried-and-tested tips to help send you gently off to the land of nod.
1. Try changing your pillows. Sounds simple, but if you sleep on your front, you’ll need a slim pillow to avoid straining your neck forwards. If you’re a side sleeper, you’ll need a thick pillow to keep your neck and head in line with your spine. And back sleepers need a medium-sized pillow that supports the head and neck.
2. In a survey we carried out, one in five people told us they keep their phone in their bed every night – not exactly soothing. Ditch the phone and the laptop in another room at night, and wind down with a good book and a bit of Classic FM instead.
3. To help your body relax, try eating walnuts and almonds, jasmine rice, hummous, bananas, edamame and miso soup in the evenings. At the same time, avoid caffeine and alcohol, high-fat foods, salt and heavy, spicy foods.
