Restaurants

For a modern all-round dining experience – with a few cocktails for good measure – look no further than The Bank, a swish venue on High Street. The wine bar and bistro is open daily for lunch, snacks and dinner until 6 pm for food and late into the night for their wine, beer and cocktail menu.

Those with spicy tastes are well-catered for in Wrexham. Ijazz is probably at the top of the pile, with the stylish, modern venue winning the Best Indian Restaurant in Wales award in 2018, while Anise opposite the Eagles Meadow Shopping Centre serves up authentic Indian and Bangladeshi dishes with a modern culinary twist.

One of the best restaurants in and around Wrexham is Croes Howell in Gresford close to our Wrexham North hotel. The 400-year-old building has been turned into a bright and modern restaurant with a popular terrace, with the European, English and Welsh seasonal menu using locally sourced ingredients.

Cafés

There are several ways to spot a top-notch fast-food joint – if they’ve been going for over 100 years and still have a lunchtime queue, you know they’re doing something right. Which is the case at Jones's Traditional British Fish & Chips just around the corner from the Eagles Meadow Shopping Centre.

A mainstay in Wrexham for nearly a decade, Dot 2 Dot Cafe is a cute, old-fashioned afternoon tea spot with a short stroll through town from our Wrexham City Centre hotel. But don’t be fooled by the stylish decor: They do a mean all-day breakfast with all bases covered. Alternatively, head to Cafe Des Galles near St Giles Church for your fried breakfast fix.

Heading north of the town centre, Caffi Cwtch is a light and airy social coffee shop with a tasty selection of sandwiches, lunch options and light bites.

Lastly, head a few miles north-east of Wrexham to Holt for one of the more rewarding cafe experiences. Cleopatra’s Coffee Shop & Bistro is a brilliantly quirky cafe by day and a buzzing bistro by night. The coffee – sourced from South America and Africa – will kick-start your day, while their food menu spans toasties, all-day breakfasts, wood-fired pizza, burgers, salads and much more.
