"Great hotel and location, shame about the bar!"
One of the better Premiers I've been to in my travels. Staff are really friendly and help and they did the best they could on a very hot weekend without and air con. Every room had a fan and duvets were replaced by sheets. Duvets could be returned on request. Restaurant service and food was good and staff super helpful.
The one thing that lets this site down is that, although it is relatively remote, being out of town, the restaurant stops serving at 8pm and the bar closes promptly at 9 - no exception. Having travelled with a large group of friends from across the world, there was nowhere we could gather and unwind after a busy day. We are not a group to "party hard", but our only option was to gather outside on the restaurant outdoor seating with our own snacks and drinks, which although there were no complaints, must have been noisy for other guests and wasn't comfortable for us. And think of the lost revenue from a semi captive audience - noone wins!

"Clean, comfortable stay."
Clean, comfortable stay, good location for Wrexham and Llangollen, good stop off in a nice quiet pleasant area with a good onsite pub.

"Disappointing stay – no air conditioning, poor communication and cleanliness issues"
We stayed here in July 2026 as a family, booking and paying for three rooms while relatives were visiting from Canada.
The biggest issue was that none of the air conditioning in the hotel was working during an exceptionally warm period. We received no communication before arrival that this was the case. Had we known, we would have booked alternative accommodation, as air conditioning was an important factor when choosing the hotel.
As a result, the rooms were unbearably hot and we had an extremely uncomfortable night's sleep. It was difficult to get any rest, which completely overshadowed our stay.
To make matters worse, the occupants of one of our other rooms were told a fan would be waiting for them in their room. When they arrived, there wasn't one, meaning they had to come down to reception in the middle of the night to find a fan themselves. This added unnecessary inconvenience and frustration at a time when everyone was already struggling with the heat.
Unfortunately, there were also cleanliness issues. In our bathroom there was a spider hanging in the corner from an old cobweb that clearly hadn't been removed for some time. It certainly didn't give the impression that the bathroom had been thoroughly checked or cleaned between guests.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Equipment failures can happen, but failing to notify guests beforehand and not ensuring promised alternatives were in place is unacceptable. Combined with the cleanliness issue, this fell well below the standard we've come to expect from Premier Inn.
I hope Premier Inn reviews how situations like this are handled in future, as better communication and attention to detail would have made a significant difference.

"Friendly, helpful staff and a clean, quiet oom"
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean but a bit warm as they do not have air con but I saw that when I booked. There was a fan in the room and the staff had removed the duvets and replaced with just sheets which was very good and I slept well. Had dinner at the restaurant but not breakfast. The food was good and again the staff were very friendly. Will stay again when next in the area.
