What's on
Housed in the dramatic Zaha Hadid designed building and sitting on the edge of the Clyde, you’ll make a grand entrance to the Riverside Museum of Transport and Travel. Once you’re inside you’ll explore rooms full of transport treasures separated into nine areas: Streets, The River Clyde, Transport & Leisure, Made in Scotland, Looks & Fashion, Crossing the World, Cutting Edge, Disasters & Crashes and Getting There. A firm favourite with visitors, make sure you take a trip back in time to the historic high street, which includes an Edwardian photography studio, a 1930s' Italian Café and a 1960s' garage.
Important information
The Riverside has all the facilities you would expect of a modern museum – toilets, baby changing facilities and a cloakroom for coats and small bags.
Accessibility
With the aim to make all areas accessible to everyone central to its vision, the Riverside Museum of Transport and Travel is fully wheelchair accessible. There are also British Sign Language and Audio descriptions, and guide and assistance dogs are welcome.

Eating and drinking
Whether you want to grab a quick bite or sit down to a three course meal, you’ll find some excellent eating and drinking options on offer in and around the Riverside.
Head to the Café at the Riverside Museum for great food and even better views over the River Clyde. The café offers breakfasts, sandwiches, soups, salads, pastries and cakes, as well as more filling hot food. If the weather’s warm, why not enjoy your snack and meal outside on the terrace?
If you head out of the museum for food or drink, you’ll find plenty of options in the north of the city centre. From traditional Scottish cuisine at Number 16 or Roastit Bubbly Jocks to paella at Elena’s or even curry at Balbir’s – the choice is yours!
Getting to Riverside Museum of Transport and Travel
Located on the north bank of the river, there are plenty of travel options to get you to the Riverside.
By car
If you’re arriving by car, there are lots of spaces in the Pay & Display car park at the Riverside. It’s £1 for a 4 hour maximum stay and there are spaces reserved for blue badge holders, as well as parents with children.
By bus
Hop on the Glasgow Citybus 100 Riversider service, which runs every 30 minutes, and you’ll be dropped off right outside the Riverside Museum.
By train
With the nearest train station, Partick station, just a 10-minutes walk from the Riverside Museum, you’ll have no trouble arriving by train.
