Doncaster Races

Officially opened in 1614, Doncaster Racecourse – also known as the Town Moor course – is a cornerstone of British horse racing. Hosting nearly 40 meetings each year, it’s famous for races like the Racing Post Trophy and the St Leger Stakes (a highlight at the four-day St Leger Festival). In fact, these races make up two of the 36 Group 1 flat races in Great Britain. Doncaster even held the first-ever Sunday race meeting in the UK – although back then, betting on a Sunday wasn’t allowed! Whether you’re singing along to a themed music night at the races, or keeping it classic at the St Leger Festival, our South Yorkshire hotels are a great place to start your first (or next) chapter at the legendary Doncaster Racecourse.
