Methodology

To create the ranking of top summer cities, we compiled a list of 63 cities from around the globe during the summertime using desk research. This series of images were then shown to a sample of 200 people and, using eye-tracking software, we recorded the average length of time it took for people to first look at the images (average time to first fixation) and the average time spent looking at the image.

These values were then sorted using a weighted scoring system to create an overall score out of 100 for each city. The cities were then ranked based on these scores to reveal which were the most eye-catching and thus, the most beautiful summer cities overall.
