First thing’s first – food and drink options are still available in all our hotels. However, the way we serve it is changing in some sites.
Earlier this year, we announced that we would be closing Whitbread branded restaurants including Beefeater, Brewers Fayre, Bar + Block and more as part of our Five-Year Plan.
As well as a great night’s sleep, we know that a key part of the Premier Inn experience is delicious food and drink. That’s why, instead of having different restaurant brands at different hotels, we’re rolling out our Premier Inn restaurants to offer great-value meals in-house in our hotels. This exciting transition not only allows us to deliver a more consistent dining experience across our hotels, but also add roughly 600 extra hotel rooms across our estate to give you even more availability when booking.
Check out our handy FAQs below to find out more about our restaurant closures before booking your next stay with us.
If you have any other questions about the closure of our restaurants, our teams will be happy to help.
FAQs:
Which restaurants are closing?
All Brewers Fayre and Beefeater restaurants across the UK will be closing, as well as all Bar + Block, Table Table, Whitbread Inns and Cookhouse + Pub restaurants. These will be replaced with new restaurants inside or next to our hotels. The Social, which is a Premier Inn restaurant in over half of our hotels, remains open.
When are the restaurants closing down?
Our Brewers Fayre restaurants closing date is 7th September 2026, while our Beefeater restaurants closing date is 10th September 2026. Other restaurant brands – including Bar + Block, Table Table, Whitbread Inns and Cookhouse + Pub restaurants – will be closing 3rd September 2026.
I’ve booked to stay in a Premier Inn. Will my hotel continue to offer food and drink?
Food and drink options are available in all our hotels. Premier Inn guests can continue to enjoy breakfast, evening meals and drinks in different restaurant spaces, inside or next to our hotels. Different hotels will be offering different dining experiences while we make changes to some of our locations. The best way to find out what will be available during your stay is to search for your specific hotel on our website and check the restaurant information. If you have any questions, please get in touch with us.
Why have you made these changes?
Over half of our Premier Inn locations already have a restaurant inside the hotel – a format we know our guests love. Instead of having different restaurant brands across our hotels, we decided to deliver a more consistent experience for guests – in-house Premier Inn restaurants that offer great value food and drink, including our famous Unlimited Breakfast.
Will food and drink offers still be available?
Availability of offers like our Meal Deal, free breakfast for kids and more will vary by location. Please check your specific hotel on our Premier Inn website to see what’s available, or get in touch with our teams.
Why is Whitbread exiting branded restaurants?
It’s all part of our wider Five-Year Plan to strengthen who we are at our core – the UK’s top hotel chain, offering great-value rooms and delicious food and drink on-site.
What will happen to the physical sites?
Some sites will just be transformed from a branded restaurant to one of our new Premier Inn restaurants inside the hotel, with extra hotel rooms also being added at some of our most popular hotels. At locations that don’t have a full restaurant, some of our hotels will offer a Breakfast Room, while others will have restaurants just next door, owned and managed by other companies.
