"Avoid Premier Inn Market Harborough - very poor experience"
Do not book Market Harborough Premier Inn - avoid at all costs
We booked a stay at the Market Harborough Premier Inn some time ago in order to attend a wedding locally. We were advised post booking that there would be no meal service available (other than breakfast) on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July. We arrived on Friday 24 July to discover that there would be no restaurant/meal service on that day either. We (and other guests) had no prior notification of this additional restaurant closure - if we had, we could have made different plans for our evening meal other than the adjacent Mcdonalds or M&S cold food from the petrol station. Food service unavailability notwithstanding, we went to the bar, managed under the Table Table brand. The person managing the bar on Friday 24 was extremely sullen and dismissive and seemed reluctant to provide more than very perfunctory service to guests - telling us all that 'she didn't work for Premier Inn' and that the licensed bar was managed by an entirely different entity.
Outside of the bedrooms themselves, the venue is very shabby (in and outside. The carpets are so dirty in the doorways directly accessing the restaurant/bar that one's shoes stick to the carpet. Glasses and ashtrays were left untouched on tables outside the venue for most of the time we were there (48+ hours).
While breakfast WAS available over this weekend, it was not a great experience, with broken equipment (hot water machine for tea not working, coffee machine repeatedly running out of milk), no ham, cheese, egg or other foods that might typically be included in a continental breakfast, no orange juice because - according to signage, it is apparently too "hard to source".
The breakfast team were, it must be said, exceptionally good and it is clear that they are doing the very best they can under very challenging circumstances. They have to endure constant complaints from disgruntled guests and they still did an amazing job. Tia, on the reception desk, was also exceptional - doing everything she could to manage the poor experience of guests.
I have sent multiple emails to customer services at Whitbread (the parent company) and have had not so much as an acknowledgement, let alone a response.
Avoid this particular venue at all costs. Do better Premier Inn and Whitbread.

"Great stay, Great value"
I had a lovely stay at Premier Inn Market Harborough. The staff were all friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout my visit, which made the experience even better. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Overall, it was excellent value for the money.

"Not a premier stay anymore"
Premier inn just isn’t what it used to be, booked this hotel whilst attending a friends wedding nearby, the week before my stay I was emailed to say the restaurant would be closed during my stay, but I could still have breakfast, I contacted the hotel several times by email to ask about the email and eventually I called to ask te questions, sadly I was advised that their restaurant will be closed and their team made redundant, the space to be converted to bedrooms and a breakfast room.
Such a shame premier inn are sadly loosing the edge they used to have on the competition, by cheapening their product and reducing their offer and service. They still however want to charge premium room rates for essentially a room now with no service or facility’s that most hotels charging the same rate offers.
In addition my room wasn’t well maintained although clean, room was uncomfortably hot at a constant 28 degrees no aircon in this site with just a fan and a window that only opened 1 inch useless to try and cool or make the room comfortable.
Such a shame as Premier Inn did used to be a premier stay sadly that’s no longer the case.
On a positive note the team I did see were all very nice but clearly feeling a little let down by the company.

"Amazing Staff !"
Had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff here were so helpful and friendly throughout- the best service I think I’ve had in any hotel as they were kind and obviously cared about my group having a great visit. It was a very hot day (and night) yet the fans supplied in all the rooms kept it lovely and cool and had a great sleep. Particular thanks to Karen, Mia and the Scottish lady who was looking after my room.
They explained the restaurant was changing which was helpful as explained its current status but this didn’t particularly affect our stay.A great place. Thank you so much, it made a big difference ( :
