"Money for nothing"
Premier Inn Leicester North West. We stayed for a couple of nights. we enjoyed clean and tidy rooms and extremely comfortable beds. However, I paid for 2 x full english breakfasts only to find that those who only paid £8 for continental breakfasts were able to eat from the full english menu. I raised my concerns with the Premier Inn receptionist after the first morning but she only agreed to look into the matter (and never got back to me). The next morning the same thing happened!

"Good Basic Hotel"
Location
The hotel is situated in a relatively quiet leafy suburb on the outskirts of the city next to County Hall
Access
There is ample parking space. The access road could win a prize in a worst pothole competition. The hotel is well signposted from the A50 roundabout
For anyone wishing to travel to and from the city centre there is a nearby bus stop with frequent services (20 to 30 minutes each way). Uber cost around £9 to £10 each way
Hotel
Standard Premier Inn with no frills. My room on the first floor was clean and had all the basics. I was very pleased that the bathroom had a walk in shower rather than the usual Premier Inn bathtub. Samsung TV had Freeview channels but I could not find any radio stations. WiFi was pretty good and no hassle to activate
Dining
Premier Inn’s move to end its restaurant partnerships is a decisive strategic realignment, abandoning low return dining brands to focus on its hotel offering
At Leicester North West the only onsite dining option is the Gynsills Farm operated by Farmhouse Inns with nothing else in the vicinity
I found that it was not possible to order food after 9:00 pm
On entering the premises for breakfast I felt that the décor was outdated and dingy and the place lacked any freshness. In terms of cleanliness glassware was dirty (told it was a dishwasher malfunction!). The equipment on the well worn hot buffet looked like it had seen better days
Whilst the quantity of food was plentiful the quality and selection was poor. Orange “juice” more like over diluted squash, no speciality coffee machines, no fresh fruit salad, croissants on the point of being stale
As for the hot buffet – a toaster that didn’t toast. Fried eggs with bullet yolks, dry black pudding, fresh tomatoes black with charring and yet raw inside, congealed scrambled eggs and mushrooms. However, the sausages, bacon and baked beans were the best thing on this tepid offering. Everything as if it had been sitting under heat lamps for a long time
If I stayed again I think I would skip the breakfast and drive the 5 or 10 minutes to a large Morrisons and enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast in its clean and bright café (unfortunately it stops serving main meals at 4:00 pm so not a possibility for early evening meal or dinner)
If my experience at this hotel is mirrored elsewhere, my conclusion is that Premier Inns loss of oversight of its partner restaurants has resulted in cost cutting and a substantial reduction in standards

"Quiet, clean and comfortable."
Well placed for what we wanted to do in the area. It was not our first choice but we were very pleased with our stay. There is plenty pf parking and there is a Farmhouse Inn next door, which is a carvery, that is geared to food quantity and has a slightly restricted menu. Room was clean and comfortable and we will certainly consider returning.
