FAQs
Yes, Victoria station and London Victoria are both the same thing – the names are interchangeable and generally most locals will know what you mean by either. The station sits within the area of Victoria in central London.
London Victoria station is open from 4am until 12.45am, with a short gap where it’s closed in the early hours of the morning. On Fridays and Saturdays there are three night trains and the station will open 15 minutes before each departs and then close again once the train has left.
Between the underground, over-ground, coach station, bus station and taxi rank, you can really head almost anywhere in London and beyond from London Victoria. The station is within walking distance of several famous London landmarks, such as Buckingham Palace, St James’s Park and Big Ben, or you can hop on the tube to explore more of central London. Overground trains from here service the south and south east of the UK, with lines heading to Brighton, Portsmouth, Canterbury, Eastbourne, East Grinstead and Ashford International.
Victoria station is in central London, in the City of Westminster. It’s well located for access to the South Bank, Houses of Parliament, Hyde Park and some of the city’s popular museums and shopping areas.
The taxi rank is directly outside the main front entrance to Victoria station. There’s a queuing system in place here to help keep things organised in busier times.
