London Kensington (Earl's Court) hotel

Convenient quiet location near Earl's Ct. Tube Station. The hotel seemed to be short staffed most of the time, however the staff were friendly. Room was standard, nothing fancy, but we didn't spend much time in the room. A/C was a plus during the hot weather! It was markedly different as to the coolness in the A/C system on the first floor and second floor, as the second floor was much cooler, as we had two rooms. TV was not up to date, there was no guide to show channel selection, and very limited channels to view. Otherwise, the hotel is a solid choice in a safe location. Coffee shops, convenience stores and cafes near the tube station were a plus.

When I arrived, the room had a nauseating chlorine smell that lasted for about 3 days. I wanted to open the window, and even though the outer pane had a sticker that said "limited opening", the first pane was stuck. I reported it to the reception, they said they'd send maintenance to fix it and I came back to the same stuck window, but this time with a new sticker that said "doesn't open, but there's sufficient airflow". On the second day I understood why the overwhelming chlorine smell: it was there to mask the moldy smell of damp towels, as the bathroom did, in fact, not get enough airflow. Towels would stay wet overnight, uncomfortable to use after the morning shower. Also, although the room was booked for 2 people, the would constantly bring one less hand / face towel, even if mentioned several times at the reception.

Throughly enjoyed my stay. Stayed for 3 nights for a conference. Found All staff to be very pleasant and attentive, particularly the staff in the restaurant. would definitely stay here again.

Great location very close to tube. Super helpful staff. Very quiet rooms despite the location. Clean. Breakfast was great as always.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The room was dirty with used tissues on the floor, the self check in was not working so had to wait for ages to check in, the breakfast was a shambles, its too small where the hot food is and i was shoved many times by other guests, i had to constantly ask for vegan sausages to be cooked, the kitchen and waiting staff were very rude and could hardly speak english, when they finally were cooked, they were not brought to the table and just left on the side so they were cold when i once again had to go up and check so did not eat them. This is the worst premier inn i have stayed in, and for kensington i expected much better, i will not stay in this hotel again.
