It’s only a 15-minute car journey from the city centre to Newcastle Airport. Just take the A167 north-west from the city, continuing onto the B6918 which signposts the airport clearly.

 

Taxis can pick up and drop off directly outside the terminal. Either take a metered taxi or book a transfer, with prices starting at around £30.

 

By Metro/Train

The Metro light rail system has a station in the airport and the journey from city centre stops such as Haymarket, Monument or Central Station take around 25 minutes. At the time of writing this will cost £3.40 for a single.

 

By Bus

From Eldon Square in the centre of Newcastle, you can catch the X77, X78 or X79 from Monday to Saturday. Expect the journey to take around half an hour.
