Newcastle (Washington) hotel

Had a cracking stay at Premier Inn Sunderland Washington and just wanted to say a massive thank you to some of the staff who really made the place feel welcoming. Sharon and David in the breakfast area were absolutely salt of the earth, proper friendly people who make you feel at home straight away. Sharon had us laughing chatting about “Buffalo Stance” by Neneh Cherry, which honestly made our morning. It’s rare these days to come across people so genuine and warm. Janice and Paul on reception were just as lovely really helpful, down to earth, and couldn’t do enough for us during our stay. Janice even sorted us out with water and glow sticks for the BBC Radio 1 roadshow, which was absolutely brilliant and such a thoughtful touch. Please pass on my thanks to their managers because they all deserve personal praise for how brilliant they are with guests. They’re a real credit to the hotel. Will definitely be back again!!

Stayed here for 1 night with my family, for a stop off before moving on. Had an amazing stay, so much that my son wanted to stay here for the week. Bed and room were clean and comfty with a really nice shower. The staff were amazing amd friendly. Janet at reception was helpful. Sharon and David at breakfast couldnt do enough for us. Breakfast was plentiful, hot and freshly cooked. Will definitely return, next time we are up this way

Best premier inn I’ve ever stayed in! Lovely friendly staff, lovely rooms and excellent breakfast ! Highly recommend - thanks for the warm welcome and the great nights sleep

The bed linen was torn and stained. 3 towels instead of 4, we were 2 adults and 2 children. The bathroom was dirty, the shower drain had a lot of hair that did not allow the water to drain. After being informed, the situation was fixed. The TV was very difficult to turn on, it did not work properly. The glasses were dusty. The room should be clean upon arrival, especially if there are children. The TV should also be checked. The breakfast was dry, it did not seem fresh. Unpleasant experience.

My husband was working overnight in Newcastle so I went with him on the drive from Sandbach to keep him company - kind of last minute. We stayed at Premier Inn Newcastle Washington. From the moment we stepped foot inside, we were greeted with such wonderful friendliness - such a warm welcome! Every corner of the hotel was gorgeous and immaculate! The room was huge and the bed so comfortable. Again - everything so clean...bed, bathroom, floor, table, chairs - luckily I did see one of the ladies that clean and was able to thank her when we were leaving. We had a huge walk in shower with 2 shower heads - hello shower of my dreams! There was a Toby's Carvery on the property so we had quick dinner there but OMG - we didn't have the carvery but the food was spectacular and exactly what we felt like after a day driving a slow and not terribly comfy huge vehicle with a cherry picker on the back, snacking on unhealthy food that's never what actually satisfies you. The wait staff were lovely and ending off with a sticky toffee pudding and ice cream - can't go wrong! I then spent a very comfortable, quiet night snuggled in bed watching TV while my poor husband was out working but thankfully he got back safely about 1h30, warmed up in the shower and we were able to sleep in - the only noise from our alarms accidentally left on unneccessaryly. I usually struggle to sleep at different places - especially on the first night but I was in heaven floating fast asleep on that really comfortable, cloud of a bed. This morning we went for breakfast and were greeted again, so warmly and happily by all different staff members. On a personal note - my whole day can be ruined by a horrible cup of coffee. I only have one cup a day and it's that morning cup. The coffee at this Premier Inn was AMAZING! Genuinely incredible! And my husband says it's the same at all the Premier Inns he stays at! Not being a big morning eater I just enjoyed my marmalade toast and coffee but the full English cooked to order breakfast looked very enticing and next time I will make sure I'm up a bit earlier to give it a try! Premier Inn is also supporting GOSH with gorgeous teddies to buy should you wish to for only £10. Being a big supporter of GOSH and the fantastic work that they do I bought one to give to my young son and do what I can to support GOSH. I'd like to thank Premier Inn Newcastle Washington! My first time staying at a Premier Inn and I was so wonderfully surprised at the professionalism, kindness and friendliness of all the staff I came into contact with, and then the cleanliness, comfort and just great environment the hotel offers. I just needed a different bit of scenery for a day/night after a very stressful and frustrating week and this helped with that and more! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Premier Inn you were just fantastic! (Also to note, this Premier Inn is perfectly positioned just far off the motorway enough to eliminate noise but close enough that getting going to where you need to go is quick and easy).
