Palmerston Road is considered the main shopping street in Southsea. It’s home to a mix of well-known brands and independent shops, plus cafes and restaurants where you can take a break from browsing. Nearby Albert Road is another popular spot, especially for quirky boutiques, vintage stores and nightlife.

Yes, entry to Southsea Castle is completely free during its open season, which runs from April to October. You can explore the keep, walk the ramparts and learn about its history through exhibitions. There’s also a courtyard cafe that’s open year-round. 

Southsea doesn’t have its own dedicated train station, but Portsmouth & Southsea Station is just a short distance away and serves the area well. From there, it’s easy to reach Southsea by bus, taxi or even on foot.
