"Evening dinner/food?? Don’t bother!"
Room is very good; breakfast, difficult to get wrong; but the evening food is awful! It might be ok for a burger but if you want veg it’s an option of salad or peas… How can you overcook peas??? I wouldn’t be surprised if they overcooked salad too!!! I’d eat elsewhere of an evening… Perhaps they should brand themselves as bed & breakfast?
"Hard to believe it's a Premier Inn"
Very rude and hostile staff member when we wanted to check in. Car park completely full. Stayed last year and almost like a different hotel, certainly not like other Premier Inns. Will stay elsewhere next time.
"Excellent location for the ferry with good choice of breakfast."
Excellent location for the ferry, good choice of breakfast, my room had a bath so that was a bonus, aircon in room plus blackout curtains I didn't try the evening meal but wish I had as the beefeater wasn't nice over the road , close proximity to Tesco, Krispy krem, homebargains, Greggs,
"Not neurodivergent friendly!"
Room spacious and clean. Beds ok but had better from premier inn before What let this place down was the staff. Went to eat in the restaurant and food was mediocre. Ordered two adult meals and 2 kids meals. The issue arose when ordering a kids meal for my young teen. Very rudely stated kids eat free, she will have to pay for hers! I don’t have an issue with paying for her - I order her a kids meal as she is neurodivergent with eating difficulties. A adults meal would overwhelm her and cause a melt down. Why the lady felt the need to embarrass us in front of others and then made my daughter question whether she was in the wrong, I have no idea! Maybe the staff need further training and could have spoken to is discreetly - I would have happily explained the situation and let her know I was happy to pay! Maybe try a different hotel chain next time!
"Great access for the Port"
This hotel is just off the M275 on the way into Portsmouth. It is ideal for staying before embarking for France or Spain from the port, which is 10 mins drive away. We had evening meal here which was a typical Premier Inn menu and fare. We didn't have breakfast as we were leaving on the early morning Ferry to Caen. The room was comfortable nd quiet which gave a good night's sleep - needed after the horrendous 7-hour journey we'd just endured. The staff were friendly and helpful. Well recommended for a stopping off place.
