"Filthy bedroom"
Arrived at our room to find crumbs on a stool and shelf, dirty teaspoons on the tea/coffee tray and faeces and urine down the toilet which obviously hadn’t been flushed or cleaned. The bathroom
stank. The reception staff were very helpful and apologetic. They offered us another room but my daughter didn’t feel safe. She has severe food allergies which require an EpiPen. After the crumbs and dirty teaspoon incident she wanted to leave. We checked out and found alternative accommodation elsewhere. Once home I spoke to Alan, one of the Managers in Guest Relations. I explained our experience to him and I asked for a refund. Despite what had happened he said it was not Premier Inn’s policy to give refunds on pre paid rooms. My family and I have stayed in Premier Inn rooms before but never again

"First Class Service"
I have stayed at this particular hotel before as I find it quite central to what I need to do and every time I have been here the staff have always been warm, friendly and welcoming. Thank you

"Mixed stay"
Stayed 1 night prior to travelling to Southampton for a cruise.
The location is good, with a Tesco ans couple of other shops nearby.
The room had good air conditioning and was quiet by the road (only noise was from inconsiderate other guests). Comfy beds, but only 1 pillow, no spares
We paid for the meal deal, food is good, long waits aa staff stand around chatting and also have to cover the bar and reception. Check they take off your meal deal amount before paying the bill. They tried to charge us full amount, and have still been charged wrong

"Could have been better"
We are disappointed with our stay this time at this specific premier inn.
We had to book 2 rooms as our youngest can no longer fit in a cot. And therefore specifically chose this hotel as it had connecting rooms. Prior to making the booking Alan has informed me that interconnecting rooms were available and confirmed that they were the rooms with the door between the sharing wall. This is ideal for our family of 5. He advised to book on the website then call back with reference so he can add the notes of our request.
When calling the hotel on the day of arrival around 4.30-5pm I was told that we only had one of the 2 connecting rooms as the other one was given to another family from yesterday. This was really disappointing as we were promised this. We had our luggage packed so we could easily access our belongings.
This has really messed things up for us. The break of our family between 2 quite far apart rooms. Having to divide everything between the rooms. This is not ideal especially with young children and having to be alone to cater to their needs.
The hotel duty manager couldn't do much as the room had already been allocated and he tried but issuing room 121 and 129 was not an easy take. He also offered complimentary breakfast but that doesn't resolve the issue and the hassle of splitting out 1 bag between 2 far apart room and splitting the family up as well.
One of the rooms bathroom weren't cleaned properly and no housekeeping was available to clean the toilet before our stay.

"Experience let down by unprofessional and unwelcoming staff"
Handy location with the consistent standard of accommodation (eg comfy bed and clean) one always enjoys with Premier Inn. The aircon was fantastic and I loved the walk in shower; so much better than a shower over a bath.
The attitude and behaviour of the employee on arrival was not good. I arrived around 11pm just as a man had gone through the front door to the reception desk. The employee at reception kept me waiting outside despite it being obvious I also wanted to get in. When she eventually released the door (I had to shout my surname through the intercom first) she offered no smile or greeting of any kind. She gave me my key card and said my room number out loud, despite it being written down on the slip she gave me. There were other people within earshot in the reception area by this point, and as a woman travelling alone I felt very uncomfortable. It’s standard practice in hotels these days not to read the room number out loud, so why wasn’t this protocol followed? Service at breakfast next morning was also a bit lacklustre. Despite it not being very busy I had to wait some minutes before someone came to the waiting point. There was no friendly greeting or even a smile. There were a number of tables uncleared, and even when the dishes were removed, they weren’t wiped down. The food was just ok - not really hot enough, but it tasted alright. Disappointed to find there was no non-dairy milk; this should be a fairly standard item.
