"Squalid hotel."
Where in the name of God do I start! Expected the standard Premier Inn experience, but this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. On arrival I paid £26 to park. Walked across the road to the hotel just as a homeless man was being ejected from the lobby by security. Lobby stank of bad drains. Been here 10 minutes and already very wary. In the room we found...no air conditioning and balcony door only opened a crack. Complained to reception, and given a fan...that didn't work. Filthy carpets, dirty bed sheets, worn and stained furniture, black mould in the shower which could not be adjusted and dripped after use. Decided to find a bar. Outside we were met with a crowd of homeless men,all drunk/drugged. All shouting and begging for money. Had to carefully tread so as not to step in the torrent of urine running across the pavement. After a quick drink we headed back for an unpleasant shower. Had to nip back to the car. Shared a lift ride back up with an extremely drunk and quite aggressive man who smelt strongly of urine. He then followed me almost to my room door. The final straw was the lift ride down with my wife. Another very strange and pungent man got into the lift with us. Told us the lifts are a bit dodgy, have been all week. I'm not sure if the hotel is accommodating some of the local homeless population. If so I'd be very worried about lice. We returned to our room, packed and checked out after an hour and a half stay total. I have never in all my years of travel had such a disgusting, and frightening experience. And all for £180. DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL . So much for your good night sleep guarantee.
"No balcony???"
There are no longer balcony access rooms, we were not made aware of this at booking. Room 605 was not clean, bed stained, carpet dirty. Room booked for two but a spare bed was set in the room.
"Short break"
Stayed here for a short break , reasonably priced ,good disabled access, close to the park and the pier. Breakfast reasonable ,evening meal was good. Friendly ,helpful staff. Lovely art deco building with great views of the seafront from the street facing rooms. Conveniently placed for park, beach, pavillion,Russell Cotes Museum and shops. Some good independent shops , plenty of places to eat, rest of town centre was disappointing
"One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Can't speak highly enough of the great team of staff headed up by Miguel"
Can't believe this was a Premier Inn. Most Premier Inns are clean and pretty much the same. This is an outstanding hotel where the service is equivilant to a five star hotel. The manager Miguel is the best. All his staff love him which means there is a great atmosphere where all the staff work as a team. We are two severely sight impaired friends travelling together. From the second we stepped foot into the hotel we were treated like royalty. Miguel was brilliant. He showed us to our rooms and made sure we knew where everything was. Light switches. tv controls and how to use the shower. He made sure we knew how to contact staff for anything we needed. I would say maybe this was special treatment because we are sight impaired but this is not the case. I witnessed Miguel making sure all his guests were happy. So he was helping couples with children and pushchairs when they were trying to negoriate the buffet. He had local knowledge to help people get the most of their stay. If he didn't know, he found out. He always had a smile and a joke to keep everyone smiling. I've travelled all over the world and stayed in some top class hotels. Who would believe that I would be rating a Premier Inn amongst the best I've ever stayed in.
"Disgusting room full of dirt and dust"
Avoid this hotel at all costs! Myself, wife and 2 kids (6 and 8) stayed for 1 night. There was no air conditioning which we were informed of beforehand so a fan was provided. We got back to the room around 10pm to go to bed and when I turned on the fan it sprayed dirt and dust all over the room including my sons bed who has additional needs. It was clear this fan had never been cleaned. As it was so late me and my wife cleaned the beds such as possible and took pictures of the dust everywhere so it could be reported in the morning as the room couldn't be properly cleaned at that hour without distributing everyone else. When it was reported to reception they were horrified and asked us to contact customer services re the good night guarantee. I did this and a week later got a reply saying sorry but you didn't report it straight away for us to fix so you just get a sorry! I have written to them again with my case reference WHB-2762359-L1Z0 explaining the reasons for waiting for the morning as what can you do at by then nearly 11pm to deep clean a room and have been completely ignored
