FAQs
The Temple Bar is one of Dublin’s most iconic pubs – and easily one of the most photographed. It’s famous for its bright red exterior, traditional Irish charm and vibrant live music scene. The pub itself has been around for decades, but the area it’s in – also called Temple Bar – is steeped in history, with cobbled streets and a strong cultural vibe. Inside, you’ll find an impressive whiskey collection, friendly atmosphere and regular live traditional Irish music sessions that keep visitors coming back.
Stay at our Premier Inn Dublin Airport hotel to enjoy a comfortable stay only a short distance from Temple Bar, with ideal access in and out of Dublin. Alternatively, if you're making the trip to Dublin by ferry, you can enjoy a relaxing hotel stay in Wales at our Caernarfon hotel, only a short drive from the port of Holyhead, while our Liverpool City Centre (Albert Dock) hotel offers convenient proximity to ferries travelling to and from Dublin.
Definitely! If you’re visiting Dublin for the first time, stopping by The Temple Bar is almost a rite of passage. Even if you just pop in for one drink, the music, buzz and historic setting make it a memorable stop. Plus, the whole Temple Bar area around it is packed with things to do, so it’s easy to make it part of a day or night out.
Temple Bar is around 6-8 miles from Dublin Airport. Depending on traffic, it usually takes about 25 to 35 minutes by taxi. You can also get there easily via public transport – there are regular buses and airport shuttles that go straight into the city centre, and from there it’s just a short walk to Temple Bar.
