Most of our Luton Airport hotels provide either chargeable 24hour parking or free onsite parking during your stay. If you need longer-term parking, you can add it through our partners at Holiday Extras when booking. We recommend checking your chosen hotel’s page or contacting them directly to confirm availability.
Luton Airport currently opens from 5am to 3pm. Prior to recent changes, the airport was open all night along with a number of shops.
There are no free shuttle services, but the Luton Shuttle Bus runs from our Luton (Airport) hotel to Luton Airport every 10 minutes from 5am to midnight, with a journey time of around 10 minutes. Single tickets cost £2.40 per adult.
Our Premier Inn Luton (Airport) hotel is about two miles from Luton Airport, about a five-minute drive or a 10-minute journey on the Luton Shuttle Bus.
Luton Airport has one main terminal, made up of a two-storey building. Check-in desks and security are on the ground floor, departures made up of 41 gates and three side piers are on the upper floor. Restaurants and shops can be found on both floors of the terminal.
Our Luton Airport hotels make getting to the airport so much easier. Getting to Luton Airport is simple, whether you’re travelling from London or elsewhere across the UK.
By car
Luton Airport is close to the M1 and M25, major roads that are easily accessible from across the country. If you’re travelling from the east, take the A505 dual carriageway through Hitchin. From the west along the M40/M25 join the M1 and exit at Junction 10. Airport parking varies in cost, the closest parking is in the Priority Meet and Greet area.
A full range of airport parking both on and off-site is available to add to your Premier Inn hotel booking through our partners at Holiday Extras.
By train
There are direct trains to Luton Airport Parkway station from stations in the Midlands, as well as connecting trains from cities in the north. From London, jump on a direct train from Blackfriars, Farringdon, Kings Cross St. Pancras or City Thameslink to get to Luton Airport Parkway station. The journey takes about an hour.

There’s plenty to do in Luton if you have time before your flight. Whether you’d like to unwind on a peaceful stroll through a park or enjoy a full day out at the zoo. If you’re thinking of going on a trip before you fly, you can’t go wrong with a day out at Whipsnade Zoo. Whipsnade Zoo is famously one of the largest in the UK, with animals you’d usually only see on safari across the world. If you’re planning on something a little more low-key, Wrest Park is just a 15-minute drive from Luton Town Centre and has over 92 acres of some of the most scenic gardens in the whole country. Wardown House, Museum & Gallery and Woodside Farm Park are other great places to take your mind off your flight or to pick up something to take back with you. Find all the best places to see in Luton in our Luton airport guide.
All our Luton Airport hotels have on-site restaurants or restaurants nearby. Our restaurants serve the Premier Inn Breakfast, an unlimited selection of delicious bacon, sausages, eggs, black pudding and much more, as well as lunches and dinners to help you prepare for your flights.
If you need to buy any last-minute must-haves for your flight, or you want to take a look through the duty-free deals, Luton Airport has a range of shops including top beauty labels and high street fashion names. Most shops can be found after passing through security, including Aelia duty free lines. Luton Airport has free Wi-Fi options and sockets throughout its main terminal. If you’re willing to pay a little extra, you can relax in an airport lounge after booking with us, thanks to our friends at Holiday Extras. The Aspire airport lounge offers unlimited Wi-Fi, complimentary food and drinks and comfy armchairs. There’s also a family-friendly area at the airport with big screens to keep kids entertained.
There are no designated sleeping areas at Luton Airport and the airport currently closes after 3pm. As the airport is on the smaller side, there are more limited seating spaces, so even when the airport returns to regular hours it’ll be tricky to find somewhere to sleep in the airport itself. If you need somewhere to stay after a long flight or you need to make an early flight in time, we recommend booking at our Premier Inn Luton (Airport) hotel instead for comfy rooms with comfy beds at budget prices, only a 5-minute drive or a 10-minute bus ride from the airport.
Buses around Luton Airport aren’t free. The Luton Shuttle Bus costs £2.40 for an adult single, £3.80 for a return and children between five and 15 travel for half price.
