The nearest city to Newport is Telford, which is just around 8 miles away. It’s easily accessible by car or bus and offers additional shopping, dining and entertainment options. If you're looking to explore a bit further, Birmingham is also about 30 miles away and reachable in under an hour by car.

Lilleshall Abbey is a great place to explore if you enjoy history, scenery and a bit of mystery. You can wander through the ruins of this former Augustinian monastery, where parts of the church and cloister buildings still stand tall. If you're up for a short drive afterwards, head to the nearby village of Tong, there, at St Bartholomew’s Church, you’ll find a quirky literary connection – it’s believed to be the final resting place of Little Nell, a character from Charles Dickens’ The Old Curiosity Shop.
