Corby is definitely worth a visit if you're exploring Northamptonshire or looking for a short break that mixes local history with green spaces and leisure. Corby is well-placed in Northamptonshire and close to several other towns. Kettering is just a 15-20-minute drive away and offers its own shops, parks, and a well-known arts centre. Market Harborough, slightly further north, is a lovely market town with independent shops and a more traditional feel. Other nearby towns include Wellingborough and Northampton, both easy to reach by car or train.

Corby doesn’t have its own airport, but several major airports are within easy driving distance. East Midlands Airport and London Luton Airport are both around an hour’s drive away, depending on traffic. Birmingham Airport and London Stansted are also accessible for longer-haul or international travel. If you're flying in, train or car connections to Corby are straightforward.

Corby Boating Lake is another peaceful place to unwind, ideal for walking, birdwatching or simply enjoying the view. For indoor fun, the Corby International Pool and leisure complex has a main pool, diving facilities, gym and splash zones that are great for families. Film fans can head to the Savoy Cinema in the town centre, which shows all the latest releases in a modern, comfortable setting. If you're into history or looking for a day out nearby, Rockingham Castle is just a short drive away and gives you a glimpse into over 900 years of heritage, with gardens and beautiful views too. Deene Park is another nearby historic house that’s open to the public on selected days and well worth a visit for its impressive architecture and gardens. You’ll also find local events at The Core at Corby Cube, a performing arts venue with comedy, music and theatre. 

Yes, Corby has its own railway station. It’s on the Midland Main Line and provides regular direct services to London St Pancras International in just over an hour, making it well-connected for both commuters and visitors. There are also links to Kettering and other nearby towns, so it's a convenient base even if you’re not driving.

Corby has a good mix of high street and local shopping. Willow Place and Corby Town Shopping Centre have a range of stores including fashion, beauty and homeware. You’ll also find supermarkets; bargain outlets and independent shops dotted around the town centre. The area has seen recent improvements, so shopping is easy and walkable, with cafes nearby when you’re ready to take a break.
