Then head to Knole House and its deerstudded Knole Park, one of the largest country estates in England, where you can explore centuries of history and spot wild fallow and sika deer roaming. Nature lovers will enjoy the Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve, a peaceful former gravel pit turned habitat filled with lakes, bird hides and woodland walks. Garden fans shouldn’t miss the hillside Riverhill Himalayan Gardens, with its exotic plants, woodland play areas and panoramic views over the Kent Weald. Nearby Emmetts Garden, on the North Downs, bursts into colour in spring with rhododendrons, azaleas and bluebells. History and exploration continue at Lullingstone Castle with its World Garden of Plants and guided tours, plus the neighbouring Lullingstone Country Park offers trails amid ancient oaks, wildflowers and ponds. You can also explore Old Soar Manor, a 13thcentury historic house, and the Shoreham Aircraft Museum, home to World War II aviation relics.
