"Best breakfast"
Best breakfast we have had. And we have stayed in many hotels. Well stocked, hot and delicious. Chef was excellent. Great stay. Comfy bed. Central.
"Great location close to where everything is and great service"
My rather large foster family (9 of us), were fully covered when visiting PremierInn Bath, from check in to check out, so good we booked a return vist on the way back from our holiday. Excellent
"Too hot for comfort"
This is a no frills budget conscious accommodation option and I accept that means limitations, but the insane control of room temperature (minimum limit at 19, resets overnight while sleeping and whenever you leave the room to 23) made our stay very uncomfortable. Great if you feel the cold but definitely not for the perimenopausal women out there! I interacted with several reception staff and most were polite, although I couldn’t call any friendly, but the first was downright rude and made it clear that she did not want to be there working in customer service at all. We enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant, but I would struggle to convince myself to go back.
"An adequate stay"
We stay in a lot of Premier Inns when we do family city breaks and would say that this one is pretty average. It's expensive for what it is £250 for 2 nights in a very basic room that feels like it needs freshening up and modernising. As always, the beds are comfy but the hotel itself felt very tired. In addition, the parking facilities for the hotel are non-existent and so you are advised to stay at Southgate shopping centre car park which is quoted as being 5-10 minutes away. Whilst this isn't incorrect, add children and suitcases and you are talking a 15-20 minute walk across the city which isn't very enjoyable and would make me think twice about staying there again. The reception staff are friendly but we found the restaurant staff to be pretty miserable who wouldn't really engage. There were lots of them around which was good but I wasn't really sure what they were doing as we had to prompt them to fill up the coffee machine and then also the apple juice. And on our first morning, we found that a number of the items such as the hash browns and bacon were severely overdone and yet were put out for customers. Thankfully this was improved on the 2nd morning. So overall, our stay there was average, nothing special, just okay.
"Expensive and disappointing."
We chose Premier Inn as we have always found them to be consistently good value and reasonably priced so booked for two nights. Starting with the good points, mostly lovely staff, comfortable beds and very convenient location. However, the pricing system in this Bath Premier Inn is confusing and we paid over £200 each for a Sunday booking and less than half for the next night. This unexpected price escalation had not been made clear when we booked some months ago. There was further confusion and mixed messaging about how long we had booked for. Both of the rooms booked were not cleaned on Sunday. The restaurant toilets were not clean and very unpleasant to use for most of the time we were there.
