"Disgustingly hot room"
Stayed here after a concert. The location is good but the room itself was diabolically hot with no air con. When we complained to staff we were told that there were 2 rooms with AC available, but we assumed all the rooms would be lacking AC and so didn’t ask. The temperature in the room was 29.5 degrees, baring in mind outside was only 15 to 18 degrees. Woke up sweating. Got woken up again by deliveries and bin lorries from 4am onwards but couldn’t close window due to the heat. A fan was provided but it was incredibly dusty and not sufficient. We only managed to sleep for 2 hours in total. In addition, there were marks on the bedding. I would avoid staying here, especially in the summertime. Disappointing as Premier Inn is usually consistently good value.
"Great Service"
Great service from Paulo in the restaurant every morning. Rooms were comfy, and fans were provided during the hot weather.
"Warm room, great staff."
Room was a bit warm but to be expected having read the reviews. Staff were all friendly and approachable especially in the restaurant. Good menu for dinner but we ate elsewhere so can’t comment on the quality, breakfast is the typical good standard we’re used to from premier inn. All in all a good visit, if you struggle in the heat avoid but I don’t have this issue.
"Unbearably hot"
Unbearably hot. No aircon, windows didn’t open more than a couple of centimetres. First room was so noisy, sirens blaring all night. We moved to an inner room the second day which was quieter but still oppressively hot. Windows didn’t open properly in either room.
"Stuffy & lack of air con lets it down !"
The Premier Inn Good nights sleep guarantee, sadly doesn't apply to this Premier Inn in warm and hot weather ,the rooms have no air conditioning and windows that seem pointless when they only open a quarter of the way ,Our room didn't drop below 27 degrees a mobile electric rotating fan was put into our room but you couldn't control where it blew the air so you got a blast of cold stale air every 2 minutes if you were lucky ,the beds themselves are quite comfortable & the vast majority of nights fell asleep straight away but having to turn the fan down low to reduce the noise coupled with the increasing temperature of the room made sleeping difficult & when applying make up for our days and nights out you'd soon be sweating & end up with you make up melting and in neat of reapplying The room though clean was showing signs of ageing parts of the carpets were showing their age and the skirting board adjacent to outside wall was starting to come loose ,the toilet and bath/shower was clean ,we did have to ask for more toilet paper and if you had a shower despite the vent on constantly the room got quite steamy relatively quick We hadn't signed up for the £10.99 breakfast but decided on the Saturday morning to give it a try ,we were down around 930am and too our slight surprise we were waiting for food to be cooked they would regularly bring hot food out but the lack of fruit was surprising ,the mushy berries just didn't look appealing The cooked breakfast help yourself choice was waiting on sausages & fair play to a kitchen staff member they brought sausages to my table I wish they hadn't ,they looked cooked but were pink in the middle ,I did complain & my complaint was forwarded to the kitchen & the coffee filter machine broke down only half filling my cup the only option was sachets of coffee and hot water (you could say being so late down for breakfast we are too blame but this shouldn't detract from the lack of options available especially the fruit!) Also had an evening meal there on the Sunday with some drinks the bar staff got our drinks order slightly wrong but did offer to rectify it & change the price to reflect the error But generally from the reception staff the cleaners the bar staff & dining staff we were made to feel welcome ,they were all polite and courteous Am I put off by my experience ?, I would return due to its close proximity to the city centre (no need for Uber's as everything within walking distance) but unless Premier Inn spent a bit of money putting some air conditioning into the building then will have to look at other options and rival companies ,nearly £100 a night for a sweat box isn't very tempting !
