"Excellent service if a little spooky"
Comfy beds, clean rooms, lovely staff. Excellent service from the minute we walked through the doors. Room 3 is haunted though! My friend had someone grab his foot in the night and I heard someone walking past my bed haha
"A great value stay for some weary hikers"
A great value stay for some weary hikers. The family room was perfect for our needs. We ate one evening meal at the hotel which was fine, nothing exceptional but was fine for us. Both breakfasts were great, fuelled us for our days on the Offa's Dyke trail. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel!
"Horizon Parking Fines - BEWARE!!!"
Premier Inn Monmouth use Horizon Parking to control the parking spaces. I was told the parking system was not functional as Horizon Parking was being implemented so I didnt need to register my car details. 2 weeks later, I get a parking fine from Horizen for £50. Horizon are a dreadful company to deal with and this can only be to the detriment of Premier Inn's reputation.
"All round excellence"
To summarise: really good venue, close to town and main roads, excellent staff, excellent service, well appointed rooms with extremely comfy bed. Breakfast and all round service from booking to leaving, excellent. Will definitely return when in the area and need to stay overnight.
"Booking a dinner Meal Deal does NOT mean you'll get dinner !!"
Its like staying at Fawlty Towers. We all booked 2 nights with their Meal Deal dinner & breakfast package but we were told the restaurant is full and we couldn't have dinner there !! We were told to book a time slot for breakfast and at our slot the restaurant was still full of University students !! Our room key failed 3 times and new ones had to be cut, (this happened to several of our group) They don't service rooms, no fresh towels, no tea tray refresh, etc. We returned after a full day out exploring to find our room wasn't made up. Reception said "you didn't ask us to service your room so we left it !! Apparently there should be a small sign in our rooms saying this but no one could find the sign. Maybe if we'd been made aware at check in we could have sid YES PLEASE MAKE UP OUR ROOM and PROVIDE CLEAN TOWELS, as is the norm in other establishments. Definitely not a Premier Inn we'll be rushing back to :(
