Wow. What an experience which I hope never to repeat. In a noisy bar trying to order food and I ask to order a starter and a desert as I’m not that handy. I’m told it will cost me £2 extra as that’s a third course. When I then re-iterate I only want two I’m told it’s £2 straight and they cannot possibly do me a starter as I have to have a main course even if I’m not going to eat it. What a waste. When I ask to speak to a manager the bartender lies and tells her manager I’ve been shouting at her. The bartender is busy and noisy and you have to raise your voice to be heard. If I’d have shouted the whole restaurant and bar would have heard me, guaranteed. I then go back to the reception and ask to leave and get given two phone numbers to call about the issue which are both premium rate numbers. It then turns out that both numbers close at 18.00 and it’s now 20.00. I then find out from the receptionist that a colleague had passed and they had held their wake at the hotel / pub. In this case the place should have shut for the evening as it was clear the staff could not cope and could not make any kind of decision. Typical of big chains showing no empathy and understanding at all. I will NEVER stay at a premier inn again - I spend thousands a year on these hotels as we all use them for work. That business has now gone.

Hotel description From a lovely church in the centre of the town, to a lively arts centre, there's lots to see and do in Grantham. And a stay at Premier Inn Hotel Grantham puts you right at the heart of the town. We're handy if you want to stretch those legs too, with some great walks around the Twin Lakes and in the Lincolnshire countryside. If you'd like something a bit more fast-paced, why not try go-karting at PFI Karting, or watch the races at Newark? The shops at Nottingham are well worth a visit, and Belvoir Castle is a must too. Then come back to the hotel for some lovely food at our Brewers Fayre restaurant, and a warm, comfy bed in your room.
