"A work in progress !"
We’ve stayed in the other Premier Inns in Torquay, so thought we would try this one as it is relatively new. Firstly it was difficult to find, up a side street, and my satnav didn’t recognise the postcode. Car park isn’t very well signed, you don’t see the sign until you are past the hotel. There is a large council car park at the rear, and PI have some spaces at the far end of a long car park. It is connected to the hotel by a lift - which was of course out of order, so you have to walk a long way ( in the rain, with your luggage ) all along the back of the hotel - round to the front ( which is currents all dug up as they seem to be working on the drains) The signage is awful - just a little sign saying “ To reception” would be a major leap forward, The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the staff polite and helpful. This is a relatively new hotel and I’m wondering, do management ever visit, and look through the eyes of a customer ????
"Holiday brak"
The hotel is clean and tidy. Check in was not great with both check in machines not working. The room was comfy and the breakfast was good
"A short break at Premier Inn TORQUAY HARBOUR L and H from Irlam M/c"
My wife and I have just had three days at Premier inn Torquay Harbour. We both really enjoyed it.We found the room was very clean the staff were all nice and freindly nothing too much trouble .The food was all cooked nice and hot for the evening meal, but we found the breakfast cooked all hot did not stay hot once on the cold breakfast plates. The Premier Inn car park is up a steep incline at the back of the Hotel and would recomend drop your luggage at the front door of the premier with your passangers and park your car.[top floor right at the end it is marked Premier guests]you can pay for parking in reception,as the car park lift is out of action it may cause problems if you have mobillity problems as there are five flights of steps. The Hotel is very central to the harbour and town 5 mins walk.We will be back next year.
"Dirty Bathroom/Poor Communication/No Refund Policy/No Manager Involvement"
Funnily enough - I left a review through Premier Inn as part of their ‘How did we do’ survey: it hasn’t appeared here, so I’m writing it all again. As has been mentioned previously, the cleanliness of the bathroom was shocking. It wasn’t clean, there was grime alone the lip of the bathroom and there were shocking great big black hairs strewn across the bath in several places: particularly where the glass to bath seals were (which were also THICK with black mould). I complained extensively on the morning after first night, and was promised this would be resolved. It wasn’t not, the bathroom itself wasn’t touched, but they did provide a large box of Thorntons Continentals. Not what I was going for, and I would rather have a clean bathroom - especially given I have two small children. I went down the next day, and told them that the bathroom hadn’t been touched. They apologised and wanted to make it right. This time the bathroom was cleaner - but it wasn’t CLEAN. It was all rather disappointing. I sent several emails, including on the evening of my first day, and got zilch back from the FOH team. The email address I sent messages to were to a direct email for the FOH team: no one ever replied over my entire stay (the morning I returned home - I received a 3am email which neglected to talk about the bathroom at all). I reached out to X to see if I could get a reply there - they stated I had to deal with the hotel given that I was still at the hotel (I tried, quite a lot - but when you get no reply, what’s the point). I spoke to the telephone customer services once home, they offered a £40 refund which was apparently the only thing they could do as a ‘Matrix’ decides the refund amount. I requested for the hotel manager to give me a call…. I’m still waiting, several days on. I had attempted to see if I could get a Refund for my stay under the ‘Good Night Guarantee’: I was told point blank, that the kind of complaint I had was not covered under this clause. It’s a shame, as the hotel is nearby to the harbour. The FOH staff are evidently working super hard, BUT, seem overworked. I stayed at this hotel for a hen do 5 months before: the council owned lift still is not working from way back in April. Shocking really, which means that the hotel does not lend itself to those with difficulties walking or who may be disabled. The breakfast in the morning was great, and the staff who tidy up were lovely and they interacted with my children really well. It’s so disappointing that the cleanliness of this hotel is obviously an issue, as it pops up again and again here on tripadvisor. Maybe the branch manager might want a chat when they see this review. I stay at Premier Inns usually for work (£2500 worth of stays usually annually), but I’ve requested that my hotel preference is to avoid them from the end of September 2025. Mould, hairs that didn’t belong to us, and brown coloured grime which looked like a mixture of dead skin, dirt and possibly faeces were what we were greeted with in our bathroom. I hope your bathroom was much cleaner…..
"Cleanliness not up to standard."
Lovely location close to harbour. Very small room for family. Cleanliness is not up to standard of other premier inn's I've been to. Bathroom inparticular was very very dirty. Would not stay here again.
