"Holiday UK passing through Nottingham with 4 Aussies"
Was not a great check in experience, but Michelle made up for it in the restaurant with excellent service and great meals and drinks and advice on the area and things to do. Michelle was a step up and is hopefully a very valued employee

"Great location - dirty, disgusting rooms"
Went here to visit family as the location was important to us.
Location was ideal, however ….
Be prepared
As per email you cannot check in until 3pm - and not a great start as room wasn’t even touched or ready, due to staff issues as we were told by the receptionist.
Waited around half an hour to get into the room in the end. And as you can see in the pictures this wasn’t or hadn’t been cleaned in months by the look of it.
When we informed the receptionist of the issues she was actually horrified of the disgusting state of the room.
And said she would get a cleaner onto it straight away as we were going out for the evening. When we returned we expected the room to be all sorted and cleaned - which it wasn’t.
Explained again this to the receptionist the following morning as we were staying 2 nights - again she said it would be sorted - after we came back from exploring the city - again it wasn’t cleaned.
That said, the receptionists were good, and breakfast was also good - they did run out of orange juice and yogurt though

"Brilliant customer service"
I had a lovely experience at this hotel. The hotel was clean and tidy. The staff were lovely, Lucy who checked me in was fantastic. I had booked a double room but needed a twin and Lucy was very quick to move me rooms and later came up and made the bed which we very much appreciated.

"Great Staff at a Struggling Hotel"
In a nutshell, there were genuine issues that affected the quality of my stay, although these could be improved. Some things worked, although the negatives in my opinion outweighed the positives. I’d advise family/friends to manage their expectations of this hotel, although I’m personally unlikely to return. To help understand my summary, a more detailed review is included below.
The Premier Inn brand is known to be inclusive, and as my partner and I were attending the ‘Beyond Monet’ exhibition at the MotorPoint Arena nearby with an elderly relative, I booked 2 rooms for 1 night. Both were double rooms as there are no accessible rooms provided, due to “fire regulations.”
We arrived by car and it took a matter of minutes to walk to what we thought was the entrance at street level. The street level entrance had a sign to ring the intercom to access the internal lift. Be aware that whilst reception can hear you, they cannot speak as the intercom “is broken.”
The lift is approximately 4 ½ foot by 5 foot so be aware that anymore than 2-3 people with hand luggage will need to access the rooms separately or use the stairs. We were checked in quickly, although had to pay for the rooms separately. We were provided with information about breakfast times and how to pay for the 24 hour parking (£16) which is managed by a third party The signage to the bar/restaurant, lifts etc were clear and easy to follow.
As with most Premier Inn rooms, the room was well laid out, clean, and with large pillows. The windows could be partially opened and overlooked Brinks Yard and an urgent care centre. There were no nets for privacy but the windows had blackout curtains. Storage included the usual wardrobes, shelving & vanity mirror combination. A large screen TV is also included, along with tea & coffee making facilities.
The en-suite bathroom included an extraction fan which I’m not sure was working. That said, the bathroom was clean and bright with good quality towels. Also included were complimentary toiletries and a mirror with lights. The water pressure was inconsistent and took time to ensure a consistent flow rate and took time to warm up.
The lift, hallway and both rooms rooms were stifling hot with the thermostat in our room showing a temperature of 30.4 degrees c, despite there being 2 fans provided, which only recirculated the hot air. I was made aware that moving rooms wouldn’t solve the issue. Despite my better judgement to leave and find another hotel, my partner convinced me to stay in the hope that things would cool down overnight, which they didn’t, staying at a steady 29 degrees c.
We stayed for dinner, which struggled to be consistent with other Premier Inn hotels we’ve stayed at, in that for example, the fish was unexpectedly very small and that there needed to be more staff working. Those who were appeared to be doing at least 2 if not 3 jobs at the same time. This meant there was no one to ask if we were expected to pay for our meals now or on check out, so after waiting, we went to our rooms. Embarrassingly, shortly after we received a call asking to pay for the meals now, which of course we did.
Breakfast consisted of a buffet style fruits, cereals and toast, although hot breakfasts were by order only. Bearing in mind the staffing observation which continued at breakfast, once the hot breakfast arrived, it was excellent as usual, and at £11 plus change each was considered good value. Staff, were chatty and polite throughout our stay.
Whilst there is a box to drop off they key-cards at check-out, we like to recognise the effort that’s gone into our stay and say thank you when handing keys in. Checking out was quick and the bill was accurately made out with no surprises. There was no offer to store our luggage for collection later, not that we intended to because by now we just wanted to leave.
I wanted to speak with the Manager on leaving to make a complaint, however they were elsewhere so a helpful member of staff listened to what I had to say. I didn’t see her write anything down, although she assured me that my comments would recorded at the hotel. Complaints are seemingly not dealt with at the hotel and I was referred to ‘Guest Relations’
I complained under the ‘Goodnight Guarantee’ scheme, which is undertaken through WhatsApp, a platform I’m keen to avoid. This scheme appears to me to be pointless!
In summary, there were genuine issues that affected the quality of my stay, although these could be improved, some things worked, although the negatives in my opinion outweighed the positives. I’d advise family/friends to manage their expectations of this hotel, although I’m personally unlikely to return to this hotel.
My Top Tip: Don’t stay here in summer!
