"Couldn't ask for better"
I stayed here in the middle of May time.
Excellent stay here, I was a bit worried as I was arriving late in the evening and I still needed to check in, I was made to feel so welcome on arrival, I hope she doesn't mind me calling her out but Laura was so lovely and welcoming with the biggest smile which made me feel comfortable and she helped me with checking in on the self service machines and got me booked in for breakfast in the morning, there was people in the bar area waiting to be served so I didn't hang about and let her serve them. I arrived in my room and it was clean and tidy as I was expecting and slept peacefully.
Breakfast I helped myself to the cooked breakfast and the continentals and there was plenty to go around, the rest of the staff were pleasant cleaning tables with smiles and being friendly with the other people staying which made it a great atmosphere.
I really hope the staff get looked after and appreciated properly and I hope premier inn know what a superb team they have.

"Staffing Issues"
We checked in using the machine, that went well. The rooms booked were twins, only one of the beds was made up. Went to reception and explained the problem only to find out the other room booked only had one bed made up too. The staff were quick to sort but left the reception area / bar unattended while they were doing this. There was a tall male member of staff with glasses on loitering around the bar area, we asked if he would serve us a drink, his responce was 'I'm Ill and should not be here' that was helpful. We stayed in the bar for an hour, service was especailly slow, the was a gent with a pony tale sat at the bar drinking, he repeatidly was telling the member of staff behind the bar what to do, not sure if he was off duty but wasnt helpful and came accross as rude. The chef preparing the hot food needs to understand that yes whilst she was shouting out that our food order was ready repeatidly we were either in the queue for the hot drinks machine or waiting for toast. Shouting louder didnt speed either of these proccess's up, it only annoyed the guests sat close to the food bar. There was only one girl on in the breakfast area who did the best she could looking after guests for breakfast, we felt that the hotel was understaffed in the evening and the morning. She wasnt able to look after the 30-40 people trying to get a table, checkout or deal with other questions in the reception.

"Extremely Poor Sleep and Worse Customer Service"
We stayed here for what was supposed to be three nights in May 2026. On the first night the room on the ground floor was boiling hot making sleep impossible. We discovered that the window of the room couldn’t be opened at all and the air conditioning was too noisy for sleeping. After a dreadful night we asked if we could be moved to another room with an opening window but were told there was nothing they could do for us because none of the hotels room windows opened “for safety”. There was even a sticker on the window to say it couldn’t be opened but not to worry, there was sufficient fresh air getting into the room. The amount of condensation on the window and black mould on the sealant would suggest otherwise. The next night we had the same issue with being unable to sleep for the heat and asked again if anything could be done. We were told again that nothing could be done and to make a claim against the company’s Good Night’s Sleep Guarantee if we were unhappy. At this point we decided to check out and not stay for a third night with no sleep. As soon as we got home we made a claim on the Good Night’s Sleep Guarantee policy, but were turned down because the hotel staff told the person investigating our claim that we had been offered an alternative which we decided (which is totally untrue). Avoid this place if you want a good night’s sleep and like to be able to open a window.

"Very poor experience"
No staff in reception in arrival. Two self check in machines, one broken. Found a member of staff in the bar, asked to book a table for dinner was told restaurant was fully booked. Asked if we could book a table for breakfast next morning and was told they did not allow bookings. Came down fof breakfast at 08:45 and restaurant was full...again... Their website appears to allow unlimited paid breakfasts to be paid for even when they exceed the capacity available at the sore. Room good and (when able to find...) staff friendly and polite. Another example of shameless cost cutting and profit gouging by building a restaurant far too small for the size of hotel. Will not return to this hotel and will certainly look at other options when booking in future.
