"Recommended hotel in newly developed area"
Quiet modern hotel in nice newly developed area close to Paddington and Edgware Road tube stations. Clean, typical premier inn decor with a modern feel to building. Staff were pleasant.
"What's not to like?"
An excellent, modern Premier Inn, well-located with comfortable, air conditioned rooms, friendly, helpful staff and a nice restaurant. It was a bit pricey on the day I stayed, but beyond that what's not to like?
"Nice new Premier Inn!"
Extremely friendly and helpful reception staff! The hotel seems pretty new. Everything was very clean. I really rate Premier Inns for their well thought out accommodation i.e. comfortable beds, good shower, room for my toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer by a mirror. I just wish the bedside tables were a little larger. We were only staying for one night. If you were staying longer, you might struggle as there's very little space to store anything, although there were a few hangers for clothes. Nice up and coming area, with plenty of bars and restaurants along the canals. Fairly easy walk to Paddington station and also Edgeware Road tube station.
"A budget hotel experience without the budget price tag"
This is a new and therefore fresh property. Particularly appreciated was the efficient AC, a pleasant surprise given that the lobby and corridors were sweltering. Since the window doesn't open, not even a crack, it is to be hoped that the AC is reliable. Beyond that, it was exactly like every other Premier Inn: a comfortable bed, coffee and tea, and not much else, and that's perfect: I was planning to be there only to sleep and shower, and didn't want to pay for comforts I wouldn't use. Only a few things were less than ideal. There are too few lifts for the number of rooms and guests, leading to long queues. The policy of no early check-in (unless paid for), enforced with authoritarian zeal, backfires when the hotel is full. At 3 pm, when check-out began, the queue stretched across the lobby, out the door and down the street. Would it have been possible to start check-in at, say, 2.45? Of course, but that would give customers an extra 15 minutes for free! Much better to keep them standing in the baking sun for 45 minutes. And that brings us to the cost-value equation: £300 a night is not unrealistic in central London at a busy time of year, but as prices shift upward, customer expectations change. I'm prepared--sometimes--to regard it as a good trade-off to pay a bargain price at the cost of queueing for 45 minutes to be met with a scowl rather than a 'thank you for your patience', but when I spend £300 for anything I'd hope to be treated like a valued customer.
"Amazing"
