"Don't pay extra for a sea view!"
We stayed for 2 nights in a Premier Plus room with a sea view. Our main motivation for paying for Premier Plus was that we could have a proper shower and not the ridiculous shower over the bath, which is available in the other rooms. The shower was good and was detachable rather than fixed, which is a relief. We weren't sure that any of the other things offered with Premier Plus were worth having. A lot of the little touches were quite nice (better mugs, coffee machine, fridge) but not essential for our stay. The vanity area had a stool which meant your face was cut in half horizontally in the mirror by the light! The chair was comfortable, but there was only one for two people. I did sleep well, but I think that was because I took my own pillow, instead of the rock hard or too soft options offered. Was it worth paying for a sea view? Definitely not! The hotel doesn't look directly on to the sea. One of our rooms had a sea view from both sides of the bed. The other, on the other side of the hotel, only had a sea view from one spot. Next time we will take our chance with the view! Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The meal deal is good. We paid for breakfast and dinner, so basically had half board. The service in the restaurant the first night was painfully slow, but we weren't in a hurry, and we were happy with the food when it came. It was a Sunday, and they seemed short staffed. The following night was much busier, but the service was much better too. Staff were very accommodating when it came to seating a wheelchair user, and were happy to move chairs to make it possible for them to sit at a table. The breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. Since our last visit, two years ago, they have changed the car park system. You pay at a machine by the front door. Blue Badge holders also pay, but outside the hotel car park they can park free, provided they display their badge. This is good, because there aren't enough disabled spaces inside the car park for the number of disabled guests. The free WiFi is very slow, but as the WiFi was off on our second day we were glad we hadn't paid for an upgrade. I did not like the music in the downstairs public areas, and thought it was too loud. I did like the seating area, where you could wait for other members of your party, or just sit if you felt like it. All in all, a pleasant stay, and we hope to return.
"Not the best - restaurant poor"
Just a one night stopover. The hotel is in a great location and could be so much better than it is . There was no WiFi available so despite paying for premium room didn’t get premium service. Although the rooms have been refurbished the paintwork was chipped in the bathroom and the towel rail was loose. Bed very comfortable though as with all Premier Inns. Check in was slow as no one at the desk and the self service was out of order (no WiFi) The restaurant was really poor and to be honest if we hadn’t pre paid we’d have gone elsewhere. The food quality is average and the service terrible.
"Disappointing service in restaurant."
Visited restaurant 7th. September. Service was very poor and I would not recommend. Perhaps this was a one off but I would definitely not go again.
"Wouldn’t return – overpriced and unwelcoming"
Really disappointed with our stay at Premier Inn Bridlington. Arrived at 2pm to find our rooms ready but told we’d need to pay £15 per room to check in early. After our evening out we came back at 10pm and staff (particularly Yaz) were rude when we wanted to pay separately. Staff in general seemed grumpy and unwelcoming. Corridors smelt of kippers, the toilet was dirty, toilet paper was awful, and the free WiFi was so bad it was pointless. For £165 a night this was nowhere near worth the price – I’d maybe expect this at £30 a night, but not at these rates. I used to think Premier Inn was reliable, but after this stay I won’t be booking again.
"Enough is enough and I’m done with Premier Inn now. Why are we so easily pleased?"
It’s an overpriced dump and we are all too easily pleased! Why do we put up with it. I’ve stayed in hotels around Europe that are much less expensive. Have awesome wi-fi capabilities as standard and rooms that are much better equipped for less. Stay on a Premier Inn expect internet that makes 80s dial up internet look fast. Expect grotty rooms that aren’t made up as expected. Don’t forget the staff that walk around with faces like a slapped backside because they don’t really want to be there. It’s all too much and yet we put up with it and offer praise for a bad service. Yes I’m an idiot for staying there but with each and every stay it eats away at my patience to give this chain another chance. Enough is enough. Stay at an Holiday Inn who may offer Breakfast and Internet that is usable. Premier just want to add in charges for everything they can.
