"Torquay Premier Inn"
Great location- overlooking the sea. Quite a large hotel (140+ rooms) which had really nice external space. Rooms were typical Premier Inn, which is fine, and this one had aircon which was brilliant given that we were in another 2026 heatwave. The real letdown was that the closure of the Beefeater restaurant chain had been broken to staff, leaving the whole place understaffed. Check-in was a particular mess- hours of queues on arrival isn't a good start to a holiday

"Not what we were expecting!"
We recently stayed at this Premier Inn in Torquay for one night. While there were some positives, we felt it fell short of the standard we’ve come to expect from Premier Inn.
We completed the online check-in in advance, as requested, to help speed up the arrival process. However, when we arrived at around 1:30 pm, we were simply told that check-in wasn’t until 3:00 pm, with no flexibility despite having completed the online process. It rather defeated the purpose of checking in online. We returned at 3:00 pm, only to wait a further 45 minutes before finally being able to collect our room key, making the whole arrival and check-in experience rather frustrating.
Parking was another frustration. We were fortunate to find a space, but it wasn’t particularly convenient and the car park was so busy that we didn’t want to move the car again for fear of losing our space.
First impressions weren’t helped by the appearance of the entrance, which didn’t look particularly clean or welcoming.
The biggest disappointment was the adjoining Beefeater restaurant. The tables were sticky, empty glasses and used drinks were left on tables, and overall it lacked the clean, well-organised feel we’d expect. Some members of staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, but service and presentation were inconsistent.
Overall, the accommodation itself was perfectly acceptable, but the arrival experience, parking, and particularly the restaurant let the stay down. With a little more attention to cleanliness, consistency, and customer experience, this could easily be a much better place to stay.

"Little break"
Lovely 3 night stay, for our Wedding Anniversary.
Our room was really nice & had 2 views, one partially of the Sea front.
It was very clean & quiet at night. Bed super comfy.
The hotel itself is quite tired & really would benefit from some up keep & care, but we had a lovely stay.
Bit cheeky asking guests to pay for Parking £8.60 per 24 hours.

"Pleasant Hotel"
We’ve stayed here before and always enjoyed it. Right on the seafront and plenty of eating places close by if you don’t want to eat at the beefeater. It’s a slightly strange layout where the main building is connected to the annexe by a long passageway but you do get used to it. We stayed during the recent ‘heatwave’. There is no air con in the rooms, we’ve never known air con there apart from in the corridors. Room was searingly hot, no fan. Told by reception they don’t automatically provide fans, although she did get me one (after saying she’d see if she could find me one). It would have been a deal breaker if not. No way could we have stayed in the room without a fan. Other hotels provide them during the summer. I don’t like the parking. Reception tell you to pay when you leave the car park. Usually you pay when you park, or at least get a ticket and pay at a barrier on exit, but with this method of paying at the machine when you exit the car park, I worry I’ll forget and the spectre of a fine is always looming. Why not just be able to pay upfront for however many nights or even just pay for 24 hours when you park, much easier. Seemed like reception was understaffed at times.

"Not great!!"
We have stayed at many Premier Inn’s before, however this one is not great! I personally didn’t feel the staff were welcoming when we first arrived, we also had an issue with the TV and when you have young children, that’s a big deal. A member of staff came up to the room, couldn’t deal with the issue, mentioned maintenance person is not back until Monday, but he would ring, well that’s the last we heard!
Room is not a typical Premier Inn style and is very dated. I know it’s not the hotels fault, but the stairs are questionable, even for an abled body person.
On a more positive note, the location of the hotel is great, beds were comfortable, but I certainly wouldn’t return or recommend.
