Nottingham - land of legend and lace. This thriving city has a fair few stories to tell, and our Nottingham hotels are a great place to start if you’re intrigued to find out more. Follow in the footsteps of Robin Hood, see what’s been happening underneath the streets for the last few centuries, party in one of Nottingham’s many clubs, bars and live venues or treat yourself to something nice from the original Paul Smith shop. And if it’s all work, no play (Nottingham is home to the HQs of Boots, Siemens, E.ON and Capital One to name a few), our Nottingham business hotels are never far away.
Once the epicentre of the British lace trade, Lace Market is now a protected heritage area. Trendy bars, restaurants, shops and businesses inhabit gorgeous warehouse buildings. This is where Nottingham’s good stuff happens.
Nottingham’s most horrible histories await you at the Galleries of Justice Museum. What used to be Nottingham’s court and prison is now a gruesome extravaganza of all things crime and punishment.
Nottingham Contemporary proves there’s more to Notts than Robin Hood, Boots and HP Sauce. Built on the site of an Anglo-Saxon fort, the building is a masterpiece of modern architecture and the gallery is highly regarded.
Don your skates and prepare to do a Torvill and Dean in an Olympic-sized ice rink. Or else leave it to the professionals and watch figure-skating, ice hockey and ice dance. Lessons available for kids and adults.
Robin Hood isn’t the only unorthodox hero with links to Nottingham. Wollaton Hall starred in the Batman film The Dark Knight Rises as Wayne Manor. Within this grandiose Elizabethan manor, you’ll find the Natural History Museum and lots of Tudor attractions. Outside, there are 500 acres of gorgeous gardens and parkland to be discovered. Watch out for the deer.
A local landmark in and of itself thanks to Anish Kapoor’s Sky Mirror, Nottingham Playhouse is known for putting on bold theatre productions - many of which tour nationally and internationally. Theatre buffs shouldn’t miss out on this one.
Being close to a wealth of outdoor attractions is one of Nottingham’s strengths. If you’re on a weekend break, then go to the Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve, Newark Castle and Gardens and Vicar Water Country Park. More intrepid travellers will have a great time pursuing the Robin Hood Trail.
Seasoned actors bring the history of Nottingham’s streets to life on the highly entertaining and award-winning Ezekial Bones tours.
Who’d have thought there was a subterranean wonderland of sandstone tunnels in Nottingham? Visit the City of Caves to see for yourself.
Experience Notts from the luxury of the Nottingham Princess. Relaxing day or evening cruises along the river Trent are available.
