"Very Convenient"
Convenient for High Street, Train Station and Utilia Stadium. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Saw me faffing about with the check in machine and came over straight away to help. Had a Premier + room very big no view. Bar area very nice. Breakfast good best fried ever had in a hotel.
"Staff need training on Health and Safety protocols"
I’m writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service and safety at your Cardiff Queen Street property on July 19–20, 2025. Instead of the comfortable and secure environment I expected, my experience was ruined by serious issues that compromised both comfort and safety. From the moment I arrived, there was a strong smell of cannabis on every floor, which infiltrated my bedroom and made it unpleasant. Despite raising this with reception upon check-out, no action was taken. On Sunday evening, the fire alarms sounded continuously, leading to a chaotic and poorly coordinated evacuation. No clear instructions were given, fire service support didn’t arrive despite assurances, and only two police officers were on site. Of particular concern was the abandonment of a disabled guest on the ninth floor. No staff member provided assistance, leaving her stranded until myself other guests intervened. This lack of duty-of-care violates accessibility and safeguarding standards. All guests were herded into an uncovered car park in heavy rain and high winds, with no shelter or information. We were vulnerable, especially given the bomb threat. To add to the chaos, we were told the hotel didn’t own the car park and were ordered to disperse, highlighting the absence of a coherent contingency plan. These failures caused significant inconvenience, anxiety, and distress. I demand the following: Premier Inn need review and improve evacuation and accessibility procedures, including staff training on assisting vulnerable guests.
"Basic but central and friendly"
Great location in city centre but not noisy at night. Building is underwhelming but social areas welcoming and staff super friendly and helpful. Room was basic - windows don't open and AC is dated - but beds were comfortable and plenty of space for 3 adults. Some issues with bathroom - shower flooding, etc - were quickly resolved when reported. Overall, a good value experience, but beware the pricey parking in and NCP.
"Gone downhill big time"
Omg what has happened to this place we have stayed here numerous times and never a problem but this time what performance. Paid for early check in for 2 premier plus rooms only to be told there are not ready we needed these rooms to get changed for our sons graduation hence why paying the extra fee but kept on being told not ready the young boy on reception was trying to help and very polite but the older man what an unhelpful rude man needs to go back on a customer service course! I’ve got so much more to say about this man and the rest of it but I will leave it to my complaint to head office about him they left us with 10 minutes to get showered and dressed for our event! And believe me we wasnt the only ones in this situation. The rooms we had were ok not worth the extra for premier plus ultimate wifi kept on going off so just had to use our data Breakfast food was really nice and the lady cooking was lovely and polite and friendly (show your colleague how it’s done!) but the drinks either there was no cups for the coffee or glasses for the juice and orange juice was empty the whole time we was at breakfast so need to sort that out The man in the bar in the evening very nice too So I said earlier gone downhill massively since our last stay so my advice is pay a bit extra and stay somewhere else
"Excellent hospitality particularly for nut allergy"
Hotel was easy to locate and not far from the central station. Staff were very friendly and were exceptional in assisting with my son’s nut allergy (allergy menu, extra wipe down of the table, fresh cutlery rather than the ones on the table). Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Only issue was the room prices were inflated due to a large event going on.
