Cardiff City Centre (Queen Street) hotel

This is my default hotel for Cardiff. Very convenient for Queen Street Station and the whole city centre. A quiet venue.

Bed in our room was rock solid, so hard that I woke up multiple times during the night with a dead arm and completely numb hand, my back in the morning was in pain. The bed was two singles pushed together with a metal bracket bracing them together, only the bracked wasnt screwed in on one side, it was loose and kept catching your feet. I raised it and was told "we will let maintenance know" no one bothered to fix it the whole time I was there. The extractor in the bathroom didn't work so showering meant you fogged up the whole room. Even worse with no open able window. Air con didn't seem to function as the dial suggested. Breakfast was a rush fest, too many people and too few staff, we had to clean our own table down so we could sit down. Dishes left on tables everywhere. So many breakfast items not available also. No milk, no orange juice etc To be honest, I couldn't wait to leave.

I stayed at the Cardiff Central Churchill Way 10th 11th April 2026. This was my first experience and I was far from disappointed and way out way of my expectations. My room was of a very high quality and very clean. The staff were extremely Courteous, Accommodating, and Professional. The night bar staff Adam and Matt were excellent along with Joel a manager whom had just finished his shift when I arrived back later that evening. Recognising I was suffering from a disability. All three could not do enough to help me. It so happens Adam's father served in the same regiment as I, and he passed on contact details of ex-veterans so I could attend Regimental Reunions. The breakfast I had the next morning was of a very high quality and the staff were excellent. I contacted Maria at Reception Tuesday 14/04/26 to make enquiries regarding lost property and conveying messages to some of the staff. Maria was most courteous and accommodating, which seems to be the norm for Premier Inn Personnel. My only disappointment regarding my stay at the premier Inn Churchill Way Cardiff, is that i didn't bump into Sir Lenny Henry while I was there.

Exceptional customer care and attention by the staff ( especially Katie and Kayla) for a family member who was staying there for 2 nights but after a fall in the day in Cardiff castle which caused quite serious injuries had to cut short her stay. Their genuine concern for her well being was definitely going the extra mile and also the care showed to me when picking her up . A credit to the premier inn for having such caring staff members. Her first night ( accident free) was very relaxing and will be staying again.

Queen street hotel…stayed there Saturday 11 April 2026. Security guard was very intimidating,singled me out for some reason,asking what rooms we were in,all well and good I get that,but his id was under his coat,I asked if he had id,to be told he didn’t need it it and he could kick me out if he wanted,i didn’t appreciate being asked what room we were in in front of others,not very security conscious,I was drunk I admit that,but my friends were NOT,my friend told him what room number we were in and he let two of them through,was clearly not letting me in until i apologised and begged… The next morning I was up for a cigarette (6am).I went down and outside to smoke,when I had finished I tapped my key on the pad,it didn’t work,I rang the security buzzer,same security guy from the night before popped his head round the corner,saw me,ignored me,I pressed the buzzer again,he came he opened the door and and promptly barred my way,asking what room number I was in..I said said same as last night 807…I had my key in my hand,he said can you tap your key,I did,the door opened,he stood in the way on purpose,sad that he finds intimidating middle aged women more important than his customer service,disgusted at the way I was treated.
