"Rude and unhelpful staff"
Very disappointed on arrival. Staff were unwelcoming. I arrived with family as we had a wedding the following day. We all had our hands full with cases and wedding attire on coat hangers. There was a ciuple being served at the desk, so we stood in a queue to be served. The receptionist interrupted her customers to tell us to use the self service, which we then found difficult to use, especially given our hands being full. Another staff member came over, who was very unhelpful. This delayed us considerably as it wasnt working properly. We then had to ask about parking, to be told to scan a QR code, again our hands were full. We then waited a good 10 mins or more for the lift. When it did open, cleaning staff were using it and they went back up in it. When i eventually asked a staff member if only one lift was working, she said they were both working. We then said the second lift has been stuck on 2 for over 10 mins. She said the cleaning staff will be using it. We then told her they were using the other one too. She then decided to tell us that there were more lifts around the corner. I get the feeling your staff are not happy working here, so continue to be unhelpful and rude. I have never entered a hotel whereby it has taken nearly 30 mins to check in and get to our room. I also felt the parking was pricy. Premier Inn is usually delightful to stay in but on this occasion it has let you down. You should be employing staff who thrive on assisting their guests as best they can.
"Very disappointing experience"
One of the worst stays here ever …been here a lot with gigs being at the Hydro the convenience of the hotel is the biggest plus side. Parking was easy and reasonable and bed was comfortable - Breakfast was reasonable too and that is where the positives stop. On arrival we were grunted at that we were too early and it would be £15 - we understood this but just asked incase the room was available so we went out for a walk Check in was relatively simple. On opening the room door we were hit with firstly a horrendous smell of smoke - then the horrendous temperature and a musty smell on opening the bathroom door! Next to the restaurant - we grabbed a drink first then approached the restaurant for out booking - we were walked to the table - order taken and within 15 minutes we had our starters - then we had over an hour wait for the next course - we were given our drink (as part of the meal deal) and finished before we were served. The gammon arrived - cold peas, cold chips, semi warm pineapple ring and a slice of gammon which was more than half fat. by this time the doors had opened at the gig and we were late - the whole point of an early boking was to be in time for our doors opening which we weren't - nearly 2 hours for a two course meal THEN the waitress tried to charge us for the drinks that we had already paid for and taken into the restaurant. The quality of staff and cleanliness of this hotel has gone down greatly - its like no one really cares about it anymore - the tables are sticky and filthy and the chairs/carpets covered in foodstuff. For the premium price you are expected to pay these days they really need to be investing in Customer Care and the decor. Also the bar being closed at 12 is absolutely a joke. With other hotels in the vicinity and charging exactly the same if not less the premier inn need to be careful and stop being so complacent presuming people will put up with anything. Even on coplaining NOTHING was done about it - I am hoping in the very least someone responds to this review Please beware if staying here - it's not like the ads you see on TV thats for sure!!!!
"Great quality budget hotel as usual. Shame about the inflated price.uality as ever."
All the quality I expect from a Premier Inn stay. Very overpriced compared to other stays I've had at Premier Inn. Disappointing that they put the prices up so severely when they know there is an even on at the Hydro. Price was over 3 times what I paid for a Premier Inn in London a few weeks earlier.
"Four stars but with a couple of gripes."
Very nice hotel, great price and good options for breakfast and dinner. Great location for the SECC and OVO. The check in process, all machine causes delays due to people needing assistance to complete. Only one member of staff running between the machines and also having to deal with any queries, which creates another delay and queue. Frustration after a long tiring journey. Rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable. The shower cubicles would benefit from a grab rail. Would also benefit from a stock of extra milk, coffee, tea to be easily available since there are so few staff around and no reception desk. The Costa outlet is excellent and very convenient being within the hotel premises. I got assistance to pay parking at the machine outside. Despite entering the correct number of nights stay I was charged the wrong amount. Premier do not help with this and the guest has to contact the parking company for a support ticket. Overall, I give four stars and will visit again but, and this is frustration in a general sense and not only with Premier Inns, too much is having to be done online and with QR codes. Doing away with human beings and moving over to a culture of a machine "welcome" is really not a step forward, in my humble option. We did notice many people being able to make access without scanning their cards. A query regarding the level of security albeit there was no trouble while we were there.
