"Perfect city location for the Hydro"
This hotel offers the perfect location for the Hydro and for the nightlife/dining of nearby Argyle Street, and it also offers easy access to family friendly activities like the Science Centre and down to the Tall Ship, as well as events in the City by train/other transport. You only need to step out of the hotel and you are beside the Bells Bridge to cross the river. We had a room a river view, which looked across to the Armadillo etc. The room was spotless, roomy and equipped as you would expect. It was also incredibly quiet. Check in was extremely busy, and I think it will be very busy at 3pm check in any time there is something on at the Hydro. However, it was extra busy as one member of staff had not turned up so there was only one lady there, there were 4 of the new self check terminals but 1 was out of order and the other 3 were not reading the QR codes, so it was taking longer. If you have a car, make sure to book parking right away, although the erratic wi-fi didn't help with this. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the bar area pleasant but very busy after a show with large queue and not much in the way of seating. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was freshly prepared. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We would recommend this hotel for it's location and would use it again.
"Hydro stay"
Great location for Hydro concert, just a 5 minute walk accross bridge. Remember to get discount parking code from inside hotel.
"Fantastic hotel would recommend"
Fantastic hotel. Accessible rooms were genuinely accessible. The lift doors are a bit quick so hard to get in with a wheelchair if someone is getting out, but that was a small thing. The first night staffing was low so the in house restaurant ran a limited menu but this was dealt with extremely well taking time bookings on arrival so they wouldn't be overwhelmed and giving the menu at time of booking to be sure that the food was suitable. Staff were lovely and location was so perfect for SECC. Would 100% book again next year for same event.
"Comfy bed, easy access to the Hydro Arena"
Easy to get to by car, lots of space to park. Easy access to the Hydro Arena, and a short walk to lots of attractions, like the distillery, motor museum, science centre and trains to the town centre. On arrival, self service machines found our reservation but could proceed so had to wait to speak to a human. Bed was soft, and even though we booked for a couple, only 1 towel was provided. Corridor wasn’t cleaned in the 4 days we were staying there, but apart from that, it was a very convenient and comfortable hotel.
"What’s happened to this hotel"
Well what can I say absolute shambles for check in .. hardly any self check in’s working then had to que to get someone to check us in then que again to scan QR code to pay for parking .. ordered bar food chicken strips starter came out dried up and no covering on them asked ti get them sent back and waiter took one broke it in 2 and says they no that bad then says it’s a new batch so that’s how they come out … unbelievable…. Dirty tables absolutely mayhem when got back from concert … sadly this hotel has went down hill
