Glasgow Pacific Quay (SECC) hotel

Unable to contact hotel after the parking booking app said no parking spaces available ,had to use public transport only to find plenty spaces available when I raised this with the receptionist who was sitting stuffing their face they replied we are too busy to answer the phone next time e mail us ,as a result it cost us over £100 extra in travelling expenses we ended up not being able to book a table for a meal before the event we were attending so ended up with nothing to eat or we would miss our event ,this was a birthday present for my wife whose birthday was on that day ,a total bloody disaster shame on you premier you could not even answer a phone call because you were all too bloody busy so disgusting !!!!

We’ve stayed at this hotel a number of times but our latest 2 day stay in a “standard” double room was very disappointing. The room we were given was shabby to say the least - ripped curtains, mould in the shower area, a musty smell in the room and an unpleasant odour on all of the towels. The whole room felt unclean. This theme continued at breakfast where many items of crockery had clearly not been thoroughly washed and much of the fresh cutlery was sticky to the touch. Beware of paying £11 for daily parking at he hotel as, should there be a football match at nearby Ibrox and/or a popular event at the Hydro then available spaces are as rare as hen’s teeth. We discovered by default that parking across the road in “The Village” hotel/gym complex was only £5/day at weekends. As we were heading to our room before leaving, our way was temporarily blocked by a male cleaner who refused to move to allow us to pass. My wife heard him sigh in frustration as we walked around him - an image that left us with an even sourer impression of the hotel. It should be noted that all of the other staff we came across were perfectly pleasant and friendly - it is obvious that Premier Inn themselves are operating on a much-reduced budget and have made cutbacks in the building’s care and maintenance. How rooms like ours are priced at more than £330/night during big events in the city (such as the Oasis tour in May 2027) is beyond me.

Booked 2 rooms as we had tickets for 2Doors Down , arrived and parking was great , on check in after waiting for the lady in reception kiosk to stop chatting to her colleague, we had booked a standard double room and an accessible double room , booked by my partner who had the email confirmation on his phone they had our friends down as accessible room and us standard , we asked if it really made a difference who paid for what room as they were the same price , after 40 years working in hospitality I know for security reasons it is better to have room guests names right , but if it had been myself I’d have apologised said there had been a little mistake , not make out we had made a mistake while booking , when eventually we got upstairs our friends room was fine apart from the empty milk cartons under the bed , on trying to get into our room we could not get the door open , for a poor couple to peek around the door obviously after having had a shower , saying they were staying over my partner went back down to reception the same lady was still there , she was a little confused until realising she’d written down the wrong room number on our car , rewrote the correct number and apologised, fine , got in room okay and found it adequately sorted out for a disabled person lbooked table for dinner , we then went down for a bit because the we had traveled a couple of hours , we sat and ordered, one starter & 4 main course, it was quite busy unfortunately only 1 boy on the bar who was very good .as

Just had the worst dinner ever ! Took over 45 mins to be served starters which were also Luke warm before waiting over an hour before mains were served The fish especially was undercooked and inedible! Know one asked is meal was ok and we left without anyone clearing plates or asking if we wanted sweets Yes the hotel was busy surprisingly! As it’s a popular choice for going to the hydro shows So sorry no excuse other than poor management Suffice to say never agdin

Location ideal for the OVO as we stayed there for Kevin Bridges. Food and drink was reasonably priced and nice ambience in bar and restaurant. Rooms maybe a bit tired, especially the bathrooms but spotless and perfect for our needs, so can't complain. We also had a lovely view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very good value for the price we paid.
