Edinburgh Park (Airport) hotel

Title: Motorbike stolen right outside main entrance under CCTV; unresponsive staff and non-existent customer service --------------------------------- I am writing this review to highlight the complete lack of security, customer care, and empathy experienced at Premier Inn Edinburgh Park (Airport) and from the Premier Inn customer service team overall. On the night of 8th July 2026, at 02:12 AM, my motorbike was stolen right outside the hotel’s main entrance, directly under their CCTV cameras. Complete lack of security monitoring: The bike's alarm sounded loudly for a long time, yet it was completely ignored by staff. Despite 3 employees being on duty that night, they remained locked inside the office without checking the CCTV screens. They only realized what was happening after hearing my shouts for help when I was woken up by the alarm. Profiteering from an emergency: To avoid being turned away into the street while dealing with the police report and emergency logistics, my wife was forced to pay for an extra night at a significantly higher rate than our previous two nights. Zero empathy: After an entire day with the police, without food or water, I returned to the hotel exhausted. When we asked to have dinner at the hotel restaurant, we were flatly told there were no tables available, with zero effort to assist us given our critical situation. Failed cancellation handling: That evening, I handed the reception staff our booking numbers for our subsequent pre-paid stays (Premier Inn York and Premier Inn Colchester), explaining that we could no longer continue our trip due to force majeure. I was assured they would take care of canceling them for a refund. Ignored customer service claims: More than three weeks after returning home, and despite submitting formal complaints to customer care, I have received no response whatsoever. The only refund issued was a ridiculous £ for an unused breakfast in Colchester. Being a victim of crime while traveling is awful, but discovering that the hotel exercises zero vigilance over its entrance and that the company lacks basic human empathy is unacceptable. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel or using this chain, especially for motorbikers.

Overall, it is a very nice hotel stay for our family. Very good -adjacent location with regards to public transportations (Edinburgh Park) -such as Train, Tram and bus stops. TK Maxx, Aldi and Tesco Superstore location is just on the otherside of the road and only approx. 5mins walk from the this hotel. Rooms are standard type. Good elevator (lift) access if you travel with big luggages. Breakfast is nothing special, -it is the typical english breakfast. You can expect long waiting times if you plan to book a dinner at the Thyme restaurant, -better book early instead... Hotel staff was very nice and awesome to keep our luggages safe in the hotel storage room while we explore Edinburgh center more during our checkout date. Otherwise, this hotel is good for family travelers.

My wife and daughter and grandson were flying back home to Canada the following day. We normally use this Premier Inn as it is handy for getting to the Airport by tram. Our family was in different room a few doors away. When we went to bed, after a little while the air con unit started to make strange gurgling noise and the fan was very noisy too. I switched it off but the room then became hot, we couldn’t open a window as it was locked and there was no key. I switched on the air con and once again it made this noise like someone running a bath, we put up with this until the room cooled down and then tried to get to sleep until the room got hot. Air con on again with the noisy fan and the gurgling noise. This pattern continued all night until we finally had to get up to head to the airport. We complained at Reception when checking out who said we should have reported it earlier so they could moved us to a different room. I wasn’t at all happy about that reply, who wants to move room in the middle of the night ? I asked about a refund for our disturbed night but the Receptionist said she couldn’t do anything about a refund, she did however log our compliant and found a number we could phone. We did phone the number and after a LOT of arguing and complaining they did finally agree to refund the cost of our room ( £157 ). We use Premier Inn whenever we go away anywhere in the UK, they always have been excellent and rooms with no problems, after the hassle we had with this one I would think twice about booking Premier Inn again. Other options are ready available. We were pleased to get the refund but would rather have had a sound nights sleep to be honest. I would say our daughters room was as ours should have been, the air con unit in their room was completely silent in operation.

A Little disappointing as such a large Version of a Premier Inn with cascading Events in the City. The Policen of Wheatssheaf are too rigid for this size of Hotel. They Need a doorman and a Concierge especially after a fire in the City centre and construction disrupted taxi Routen etc

The bedroom was fine and the food was nice, however the staff aren’t giving the best impressions to new comers: • The tables in the restaurant are sticky. • There’s usually one waitress serving all the tables. • The last two nights the housekeeper hasn’t cleaned my bed, nor has she emptied my bin and not taken away my wet towels, I had to go to reception to ask for towels. I was shaving and I cleaned the off blood with the towel and there’s little bits of blood and it might not come off. I put out the sign that says “ l've let reception know l'd like my room cleaned”, and still the housekeeper didn’t come.
