"Awesome restaurant staff!"
We had a great nights sleep here at Edinburgh Park. When we went in for breakfast, we asked if there was a gluten free menu, or GF products. The young lady in charge of the restaurant was absolutely wonderful. She immediately asked us to wait while she went and sanitised our table, and our cutlery. She then took our hot food order and said she would have the kitchen make it up separately from the buffet to avoid any cross contamination. She really couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful and we really appreciated it. We felt very safe and it is rare for a restaurant to go so far to ensure that we feel that way. This lady was an absolute credit and should be valued (Saturday 12th July breakfast shift)…a huge thank you to her!
"Glass in the carpet on check in "
The location is excellent, just hop on the tram and five stops later you're right outside the hotel. Only issue at the tram stop you have to go up the stairs over the tunnel and back down over the train track. There is a lift at each side, not a massive issue just a bit of an inconvenience. Stayed here for a few days at the beginning of the fringe this year. Because of the fringe, obviously things were really busy. There are three self check in machines if you don't want to wait in the queue for the receptionist. When we checked into the room, it wasn't a family room like we booked, but a double with the sofa folded down and another bed put in infront of the tv. But again, it was the fringe and things were busy so we didn't really mind. Now to the issue we faced, I had taken my shoes off in the bathroom and walked to the bed and a piece of glass got stuck in my foot. Thankfully, it was me and not either of the kids. However it left me with difficulty to walk over the fringe in a busy city center. We made the receptionist aware of this in the morning and he said he would inform the manager and the cleaning staff. That was on the Saturday morning, and when we arrived back on the evening the bins had been emptied but it was very visible that there hadn't been much of an attempt to hoover. Spoke with the manager then a few days later, she went to the room and said that yes it didn't look like the room had been hoovered, she was angry that her housekeeping team had lied to her. She gave me the email address to email head office on our return, they took so long to reply. Basically said we weren't entitled to a refund as it should have been done at the hotel and we were now 28 days after the booking. Which it wouldn't have been that long if they'd had replied in a timely manner. This is absolutely ridiculous. It was a great location, we would have returned under better circumstances as we visit Edinburgh quite a lot. No one seemed to take responsibility for what happened.
"Excellent value compared to city centre hotels"
If you're staying in Edinburgh then definitely one to consider. Approx 15-20 mins from city centre by tram, and with the daily cap it makes it a very good value stay. You know what you get with Premier Inn, good quality rooms and the excellent buffet breakfast. There is parking and the tram stops right outside. Stayed for 2 nights in July and will be back next time we go to Edinburgh
"First choice in Edinburgh"
I stayed here most weeknights and some weekends from Sept 23 until May 25 even though company would have put me in aparthotels in central Edinburgh. All the Staff from managers to kitchen staff were always very helpful and polite. Rooms always clean on checking and change of bedding etc was available on request. Whether using train tram or bus into Edinburgh this hotel is the one to use
"Comfortable stay"
Overall a very comfortable stay at the Premier Inn Edinburgh Park. The staff were very helpful and available upon check in. The communal areas and hallways were quiet and well kept. Although we didn't visit the hotel does have a restaurant inside. Paying for the car park was easy to do and overall a good price for our 2 night stay. The car park had plenty of spaces and we felt our vehicle was safe in the car park. The room was very clean and we were very impressed with the room overall. The bathroom was lovely and we really enjoyed the shower - It did leak a bit but this dried over time from the fan. The temperature control is the room was amazing as when we visited there was a heat wave. Although right next to the railway station we heard minimal noise and slept really well. The location was fab for us and just what we wanted. Unable to drive in the city centre due to our vehicle this hotel allowed us to get the train in to the city centre within 20 minutes. We were able to explore Edinburgh at our own pace and leisure and we were able to go back to the hotel at any time which we loved. Shops opposite the hotel we found very useful to grab some snacks and a few essential items. We also made use of the Costa inside of the hotel - very convenient and great for before our long drive home. We would really recommend this hotel, perfect location and a very spacious and comfortable room.
