"Great airport location"
Great location for easy access to the airport. Clean room and comfortable bed. The food was good. The WiFi could be better but it was adequate for our needs.
"Good place to stay for an early flight"
Great place to start your holiday early. Stayed here a few times. Ate in the thyme restaurant, which is ok, maybe overpriced. But they have a captive audience. Service was very good, apart from in the bar area. Great Costa service.
"Excellent Service"
We arrived shortly after 9am, having had a nightmare night in a nearby hotel and having only had 3 hours' sleep. We had booked online and when we arrived we were met by Stanley at reception. We asked if we could pay for an early check-in. Stanley saw that we were very fatigued and distressed following our experience at the nearby hotel and he checked and said that we could get a room straight away. Exceptional service!! We cannot thank him enough as all that we wanted to do was get some sleep. We would have stayed here on the previous night when our flight was cancelled but it was fully booked, so EasyJet had booked us into a local "Fawlty Towers". We have stayed here several times awaiting flights and the hotel is very comfortable, the facilites are excellent and it is just a 2 minute walk from arrivals and departures in the North Terminal. It is also very reasonably priced considering its location. A very comfortable amd enjoyable stay and 10 out of 10 for Stanley! He is a true example of what good customer service should be!
"Fantastic Location, Appalling Customer Service (manager)"
We recently stayed at Premier Inn Gatwick North after switching from Travelodge. We specifically wanted a premium room because we needed a fridge to store some food items, but no premium rooms were available on the day of booking. We called customer service twice beforehand, and both times they assured us we could ask reception to store our food. This was not medication, just small lunch-box–sized items. We would never have cancelled Travelodge and taken that risk had we been told it was only allowed for medications. Upon arrival, a staff member (possibly called Hector) told us it was illegal to store anything other than medication. His tone was smarmy and dismissive. He kept repeating “I can only apologise” in a smug, robotic tone instead of actually helping. When my husband asked to speak to the manager, he revealed that he himself was the manager. He was sarcastic, unhelpful, and seemed to mock us. At one point, when interacting with a colleague, he smiled and shrugged off the issue while the colleague shook his head in what appeared to be a mocking reference to our being Indian—an “Indian-style head bob.” They clearly thought I wouldn’t notice, but I did, and it felt deeply disrespectful, especially since the other guy himself appeared to be of South Asian origin. The result was that the food we brought for the trip abroad for family may now be ruined, which was very upsetting & cost us money. Another staff member later offered a polite solution, taking us to the bar for ice, which we appreciated. The rest of the hotel staff were courteous and helpful. The room itself was adequate for a night’s stay—slightly warm, low shower pressure, and at the far end of the building, meaning a long walk with luggage. Breakfast was okay but limited in choice. The hotel’s location near Gatwick is fantastic which is great for a nights stay before your flight, but the unprofessional attitude of the so-called manager overshadowed the stay. Premier Inn should honor reasonable customer requests, especially when promised by customer service, and at least offer an apology or some compensation when things go wrong. Stayed here before but after this time, don’t think I’ll be back.
"Excellent stay.. Perfect end to a great holiday."
Great hotel with friendly service, good facilities, lovely rooms and perfect walking distance to airport. Will definitely stay again on our next visit.
