"Kpf"
Stopped at this premier inn at Easter last year some problems at time but after 12months thought there would be some improvement WRONG if anything this visit was worse first when checked in got to room there was no milk and toilet paper, shower curtain was for actual shower tray ? So when showering in bath had to put curtain in bath which then crunched up under feet went to reception and was given a toilet roll that was for the actual hotel toilets near lobby and told there was no milk at all, went out and returned so booked a table for evening dinner told restaurant was closing at 8pm booked for 7-30 on arrival had to wait for someone to come to take order when ordering drinks was told there was no soft drinks ie coke lemonade orange etc had run out but was there was fruit shoots available. Proceeded to order the meals asked for steaks to be done medium to well done when served they was cooked rare, so asked for them to done as ordered the staff member who returned with replacement then proceeded to inform us he had cooked them personally to make sure done correctly wherever the chef was remained a mystery if there was a chef at all the replacement meal terrible the steak had no taste the chips looked like they been soaked in oil when bit into them could taste the oil from them, lasange was just runny and whatever was supposed to be on top ? So all in all very disappointed we like the hotel and location but certainly requires staff improvements, and when being spoken to don’t like being referred to as guys or mate that is no no, so advise staying at hotel breakfast ok but avoid evening meal
"Not worth a visit"
Worst experience ever. 90 minutes + toget into room. Not ready key not open door.next key not open floor door.ended up with two keys. Bar was defunct of most drinks. No draught beer. Very few bottles no lemonade coke orange or soft drinks . Lovely cocktails menu no mixers to make them. 60 minutes + wait for food after ordering and we were the first to order and get food. No white bred or croissants at breakfast. We had a nice disabled access room Lovely looking coffee machine. Big problem no milk pods for the machine anywhere in the hotel. Felt sorry for the very few Sunday staff as they were getting most of the agro from a large amount of extremely unhappy customers.
"A 1 star review for this hotel is 1 star too many."
1 star is far too many stars for the experience we had at this ridiculous hotel. We arrived and were greeted by 2 obnoxious and totally rude staff members. Check in was easy enough but that was the last good thing to happen to us at this hotel. We asked if the bar was available and open to get a bar snack or get a drink and we were replied to with ignorant grunts as if we had asked a question about the laws of thermo dynamics or algebraic equations. We decided to wait til later and when we returned after a couple of hours shopping in Harrogate we asked if we could get a menu and a staff member called Ian said "no, go and sit in a corner and wait." I was sure id misheard but unfortunately I was told to go and sit in a corner and was.then told "actually we aren't serving food or drink, everything is broken" when asked if he was happy talking to customers in this way he said he didn't care. He then said "this ship is sinking and we are that are manning it and we have had enough". There were around 10 to 15 customers all complaining about being and the staff were not interested in the slightest.
"Tired, grubby shambles"
Really letting the brand down. As a regular Premier Inn visitor I usually appreciate the straightforward, clean rooms and fuss-free efficiency that these offer, but Harrogate Town Centre stands out as a massive outlier. The bathroom had black mould on the ceiling and a terrible damp smell. The laminate floor was cracked and when standing on it, dirty water welled through the cracks. The vanity mirror lights weren’t working, there was no milk in the room, and there were 2 kettle bases in the room where a broken one had not been removed. The communal areas had tired, grubby looking carpets with damaged areas in the dining room taped over. The staff were bordering on surly, with the odd inappropriate joke between each other on reception thrown in for good measure. Not like anything I have experienced before in the many PIs I’ve visited and I certainly wouldn’t return.
"Avoid this hotel"
Understaffed, 1 person in charge of everything. Hotel is exhausted, grubby (carpets particularly) and in decline, immediately obvious on arrival, and would not recommend. Cleanliness is questionable, I immediately cleaned our toilet seat. There are plenty of lovely options in Harrogate, they need to up the game, this is my second disappointing stay. First, I thought, was unfortunate staffing issue. This is not typical of what is expected from booking a Premier Inn. Definitely the worst and worsening of any of my stays in Premier Harrogate Centre or other Premier's. Would not consider this hotel again.
