"Not up to usual standard expected from Premier Inn"
As usual, a clean room and layout as expected, we only had 1 child and this was fine, I would not of liked to have tried to have a 2nd childs bed in the room though would have been very cramped. Aircon intermittently went off and had to keep asking reception to turn it back on. Windows do not open so no way of getting any fresh air in the room and quickly becomes stuffy. I specifically picked this hotel because it had aircon ( I am a woman of a certain age) and to not have it available on demand was frustrating and led to a poor nights sleep on the first night when it went off. Main grievance though is the restaurant. Can I just first give a BIG shout out to Joseph the waiter on our first day, went over and above and was brilliant despite being the only member of waiting staff on duty. However first morning at breakfast there was no milk available apart from the small pots, so cereal a NO, coffee machine a NO, and no scrambled or poached eggs!! Ridiculous to be serving breakfast with no milk available. Onto morning 2 and they now had milk but the coffee machine was broken, so 2 days of no decent coffee available, not the end of the world but also not great. Dinner there were several items off the menu and at one point we were told we had to wait for desert as only 1 chef on duty and no further food orders could be put through for 15 mins. Again not the end of the world, but as other people have said very short staffed. No napkins / serviettes available at any meals, which with an older child I have stopped carrying baby wipes, but all of us needed napkins and I was left trying to find tissues in my handbag to wipe hands and mouths. Basic requirement in a restaurant in my opinion.
    "Overall decent stay"
When we arrived the manager Katelyn checked us in and she was absolutely fantastic, she helped us check in early and seamlessly. The reception staff were friendly enougg and the room had a fan in and air con too so we were able to stay cool during the heat. The only thing I found was they no longer have the bar open during the day it is set times and one staff member in there which means they are run off their feet trying to keep up. We had to sit at a breakfast table with previous plates amd cutlery on it as the poor staff member just could not keep up. Re-open the bar throughout the day and staff it up and it would be back to it's previous glory.
    "Need more staff"
Room was very dated and had a strange smell inside. Stayed 16th Aug and receptionist was fantastic in helping us get a taxi but the overall room was not great. Breakfast on the 17th was chaos. Not front of house staff, no clean tables, no clean bowls or spoons. The two staff that were working were struggling to do everything so not their fault. Management need to review how much staff they have working to be able to provide a good experience.
    "Inadequate staff on duty."
Where do I start this was our worse experience at Premier Inn. Staffing has obviously been cut and despite the staffs best efforts they could not provide the service expected. On arrival we were allocated the two family rooms we had booked. The first room only had one child's bed in which was unsuitable for a female aged 12 and male aged 10 . The second room allocated already had guest staying in and they were in the shower!!! So we returned to reception and the receptionist said she would put another bed in the room whilst we ate in the restaurant, she did this ( so there was no cover in reception during this time) but the room was so cramped there was no room between the beds to manoeuvre in and out !! We were allocated a new 2nd room. I doubt the guest in the shower was very happy!!! On arrival at the restaurant we were greeted by a very stressed young lady who was trying her hardest to seat guests, served drinks and take food orders and clear tables as she was the only member of staff on duty. There was only one member of staff in the kitchen who was trying to keep up with orders and serving food in consequence guests were waiting for an hour for food to be served !!! The children's meals were poor. They had a tortilla starter that was supposed to come with a dip but it arrived with a chopped up tomato as they wasn't any dip available..it was really unappetising as was the Spaghetti Bolognese. The menu offered pancakes ( note plural) in fact it was one small breakfast pancake cut into quarters and a banana shared between the 3 children in our party. The chicken pie had been cremated in the microwave and was very dry. Several customers were complaining they had been staying several night and had the same bad experience every day. I have to say under the circumstances the staff were doing their best but the expectation for them to provide an adequate service to customers was unattainable To Premier Inn I could not recommend this hotel if you want your guests to have a stay that will get you good reviews you have to ensure you have to have more than one member of staff in each area. The pressure you put these young people under by making staffing cuts is unacceptable!!!
    "Poor premier inn."
Poor service and understaffed, long queues at the bar in the resteraunt. Ran out of items on the menu, excuse was waiting for deliveries.
