Blackpool Airport hotel

This was our second stay at this Premier Inn. We’ve stayed all over the UK in Premier Inn’s. All good first time we stayed here, not so this time. We had room 1 which is the first room through the door beside reception. We had to have 2 different type of keys. The usual modern key card and also an old style proper key to unlock the room door. The key card was to access the corridor to the room. Room 1 is not like any other Premier Inn I’ve stayed in over the last 15 years or so. It is a late 90’s early 2000’s style. A tired looking bathroom and a TV about the size of my microwave, mounted way up on the wall. When we queried this with reception we were advised rooms 1, 3 and 5 were not refurbished when all the other ones in the hotel were 5 years ago. You could see other rooms in that corridor had the modern key card entry not the old fashioned lock that ours had. The bed was the usual very comfortable Premier Inn, although it had a different very basic surround/headboard to the ones showing on the Premier Inn website. The staff on the reception desk were first class. So friendly and cheerful. We ate breakfast at the Air Balloon next door. Breakfast was really good with a huge choice of hot food and the people serving there were great. The location of this Premier Inn is very good. A short walk to the Starr Gate tram stop and the bus stops are even closer. Very convenient for going into the town, piers etc. we used the trams and left the car in the hotel car park, which is free and a nice touch. We would stay here again but would request one of the refurbished rooms.

Very disappointed with our stay this weekend just gone at Blackpool airport premier inn. We stay every year here for Blackpool air show. Never had any issues before until this year. We had room 1 which we thought was good until it came to the evening and we was in bed, next to the main door for the rooms and the door for the stairs. Every time someone came through our door to our room rattled badly. This was constant as you can imagine guests coming in after being out all day. Door needs sorting. Probably the worst two nights sleep we’ve had at a premier inn all due to the door. Room was clean, location is what we want and we like the pub breakfast next door. Just very disappointed. IF we book again for next year I’ll be making a request to make sure we don’t get room 1 again.

Another great couple of nights in our Favourite Premier. We had paid for early check in and the room was ready right on cue, despite the place being full the night before. Nicola on reception was very helpful, as are all the staff here, and she allocated us Room 1 which was perfect for us. Not much more to add really...lovely clean room and lovely staff. Still our favourite Premier.

One Friday night here while visiting Blackpool. Hotel is in a good location, lots of parking. Room was ok but the bathroom needed to be cleaned again. Plus we had to ask for towels as none in the room. Lots of creaky floors from above too, so quite noisy. The breakfast is served in the pub next door, which you have to order, its not buffet for the hot food. Just a few mins walk to Starr Gate to get the tram to Blackpool and beyond.

We were given a proper key for room 1. It was awful not like a normal premier inn I’ve ever stayed in! The tv was tiny and at a funny angle to the bed and the room just looked tired! My husband asked for us to be moved which they were not happy to do. We then got room 11 which is just like a normal prem inn room. When I took some coffee and milk ( we ate here for two nights) the girl behind the desk said ”are you taking enough for your whole stay?” In a snide manner. Then I had to go and ask for a second towel and she commented on that saying that’s because that wasn’t your room. I think we upset her for getting a change! Do not take room 1. When you’re paying for what you see advertised on TV , and we use Prem inn all over the country , then make sure that’s what you get! Really not impressed with the lady’s manner towards us. The people on duty this morning are so much nicer.
